A FREEMASONS’ LODGE FOR MEMBERS OF OXFORD UNIVERSITY

The Apollo University Lodge accepts proposals for membership from present and past members of Oxford University. The History of the Apollo University Lodge records that on 24^th May, 1818, at Brasenose College, a meeting of freemasons was held with a view to founding a lodge for undergraduates of the University. It was resolved at that meeting that the permission of the Vice Chancellor having first been obtained, a suitable petition would be presented to the headquarters of freemasonry – Grand Lodge. In due course, the first meeting of the Apollo University Lodge was held on 10^th February, 1819. Since then, many thousands of Oxonians have become members of what is commonly regarded as the largest and probably the longest-running of the various University societies. Current membership is in the region of 300 and includes some fifty junior and senior members of the University and its Departments, the remainder choosing to continue their membership as an enjoyable way of keeping up the circle of their University acquaintances. It is well known that Elias Ashmole was one of the first recorded freemasons in England; John Radcliffe was a mason; Cecil Rhodes and even Oscar Wilde were members of the University Lodge! Both Prince Leopold, who was its Master in 1876 and Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, who was Master three years earlier, joined the Lodge during their studies at Oxford. During recent decades, Lodge membership has continued to be a microcosm of the University with a diverse and stimulating multi-cultural mix. It will come as no surprise to learn that a large lodge of such origins should still be of interest throughout the world.

What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is a society of men concerned with moral and spiritual values. The three "great principles", as they are called in masonry are Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth, that is: tolerance and respect for the opinions of others and an obligation to behave with kindness and understanding to our fellow creatures; the practice of charity - freemasonry is known, above all else, for its substantial outward giving (through the "Grand Charity") to many worthy causes (currently in the UK, in the region of £15m a year); masons strive for truth, aiming to achieve high standards in their public and private lives.

Freemasonry demands from its 320,000 members (under the United Grand Lodge of England) a respect of the law with which its principles do not in any way conflict. A freemason's duty as a citizen must always come first and it is a serious disqualification to attempt to use membership of the order to promote one's own, or anyone else's personal interests. A freemason's duties are first to his God, then, without detriment to his family and those dependent upon him, to his fellow men.

Freemasonry is not a secret society: there are traditional secrets associated with the ceremonial of masonry that concern the age-old modes of recognition – nothing more.
Discussion of politics or religion are not permitted at masonic meetings.

Qualifications for membership.

Although freemasonry is secular and multi-denominational, all candidates for membership must declare a belief in a Supreme Being. Secondly, all candidates must be of demonstrable "good character". Membership of the Apollo University Lodge is additionally open to matriculated members of Oxford University; the qualifying age for freemasonry generally is 21 years, but the Lodges of Oxford and Cambridge have the unique distinction of exception from this rule and may initiate members under this age. It may be that a member of your family is already a mason: ask him about it! And sons of freemasons enjoy a queue-jumping privilege in the rush for membership!

Fees.

There is an administration fee, upon joining, of £20, and an annual subscription of £80 (of which a substantial amount is devoted to the Grand Charity, the remainder being for the use of premises and annual administration costs). Dining is not included in the membership fee and is usually in the region of £20, including wine. Most freemasons contribute, according to conscience and within their means, to the masonic and other charities mentioned above.

Masonic Samaritan Fund Annual Meeting

It has become a tradition that the Annual Meeting of the Masonic Samaritan Fund is held in the next Province to complete their Festival.

The Provincial Grand Master, having agreed that Oxfordshire will carry on this tradition and host the Masonic Samaritan Fund Annual Meeting, hopes that each Lodge is well represented so he can thank them for their efforts thus far.

Therefore the Annual Meeting of the Masonic Samaritan Fund will be held at The Oxford Centre, 333 banbury Road on Wednesday the 31st of March 2010
Itinerary:
5.00pm Coffee & Registration
6.00pm Various items from the PGM, the President Richard Douglas, Roy Simmonds etc.
7.30pm End of Meeting
This will be followed by a free finger buffet & informal gathering so that everyone gets a chance to "mingle"
As well as the Active Provincial officers of the year the Provincial Grand Master hopes for each Lodge, where possible, to have the Master, Wardens, Secretary, Almoner and Charity Steward in attendance.
The Meeting is also open to Wives, Partners, Family etc. etc.

สภาพความเป็น Exclusive อาจดูเท่ในยุคนั้น จึงมีเจ้านายมาเป็นสมาชิกด้วย พอมากๆเข้า Freemasons เลยกลายเป็น “ราชสมาคม” หรือ The Royal Society โดยตั้งขึ้นใน Oxford ปี 1645 และมาตั้งอีกแห่งที่ London ในปี 1660 แต่ที่ London Freemasons ในคราบ Royal Society เป็นองค์กร Think Tank ของชนชั้นสูง ที่รวมนักคิดคนสำคัญๆ ส่วนช่างฝีมือจริงๆก็ยังมี ต่อมา Freemasons เข้าไปเกี่ยวกับการเมืองยุ่งๆ และเรื่องอำนาจของศาสนจักร ในยุคของ Oliver Cromwell ..ซึ่งผมขอข้ามตรงนี้ไป เพราะไม่เกี่ยวกับไซออนิสต์

ปี 1717 มีการปฏิรูป Freemasons อีกครั้ง ในช่วงที่ยุโรปมีการปฏิรูปศาสนากันยกใหญ่ นิกายใหม่ๆมากมาย Freemasons ที่เคยเกาะติดกับศาสนจักรมาตั้งแต่ต้น ประกาศตัวเป็นกลาง เสนอแนวคิด ที่เปิดกว้างกว่าว่า “Enlightenment” พอมาถึงทศวรรษที่ 1730 Andrew Ramsay ชาวสก๊อตส์ลี้ภัยการเมืองมาเป็นขุนนางในฝรั่งเศส อ้างว่า Freemasons รุ่นก่อตั้ง เป็นผู้ก่่อร่างสร้างรัฐให้พวกครูเสด เป็นผู้ซึ่งรู้เกี่ยวกับศาสตร์แห่งพิธีกรรมลี้ลับ ทำให้มีความรู้พิเศษที่ได้รับจากโลกโบราณ ..ว่าไปโน่นเลย จาก Professional Club กลายเป็นองค์กรลี้ลับ บางที Andrew Ramsay อาจต้องการ Branding ให้แตกต่างจากคู่แข่ง โดยทำให้ Freemasons ดูขลังขึ้น .. Freemasons เยอรมัน ..เล่าต่อกันมาว่าGrand Master of the Order ของ Freemasons ได้ล่วงรู้ความลับ และครอบครองมหาสมบัติของ “พวกยิวนิกายเอสเซนส์” ยิว Essense เป็นพวกยิวที่มีรกรากในปาเลสไตน์ มาตั้งแต่ก่อนพระเยซูเกิด ถึงศตวรรษที่ 2 เป็นพวกลัทธิลี้ลับ ต่อมาคริสต์บางนิกายก็รับแนวคิดทำร้ายตัวเองเฆี่ยนตีตัวเอง หรือไม่ก็จับพวกเดียวกันตอกตะปูตรึงกางเขน เหมือนพระเยซู เดี๋ยวนี้ก็ยังมีในปาเลสไตน์ แต่เป็นโชว์เสียมากกว่าพอวันคริสต์มาสก็ออกมาแบกไม้กลางเขน

น่าสงสัยว่าอะไรคือความลี้ลับ ขุมทรัพยมหาสมบัติ ที่อ้างว่าได้มาจากยิว.. หรือว่าผู้ที่กุตำนานสองเรื่องนี้ขึ้นมา จะเป็นยิว..เพราะต้องการสร้างอิทธิพลทางความคิดต่อ Freemasons ลองดูต่อไป อีกเรื่องเล่าหนึ่งตรงข้ามกับสองเรื่องแรก ไม่มีอภินิหารใดๆ เล่าว่า Freemasons เริ่มจากช่างฝีมือมารวมตัวกัน พรางตัวแฝงมาในรูปสมาคมของปัญญาชน ทีแรกเริ่มจากช่าง พ่อค้า นักการเงิน ทนาย แพทย์ ทูต และลูกผู้ดี ผู้ชายที่มีีชื่อเสียง รวมทั้งราชนิกูล เฟรเดอริกมหาราช พระสวามีของ มาเรีย เทเลซ่า แห่งออสเตรีย.. Francis of Lorraine และ Voltaire นักปรัชญานามอุโฆษ ...ทำให้ Freemasons กลับมาเป็นสมาคมของผู้ดีตีนแดงอีกครั้งหนึ่ง.. เรื่องเล่าตำนานลี้ลับ และยิวหายไปจาก Freemasons อีกครั้งหนึ่ง

เพราะการทำตัวให้ Exclusive ยิ่งทำให้ Freemasons เท่ แต่เพราะการทำให้ดูลึกลับที่เองที่เปิดช่องให้มีการแทรกซึมจาก “มือที่มองไม่เห็น” หรือ Hidden Hand ในเวลานั้นความเป็นปฏิปักษ์กันทางศาสนา เปลี่ยนจากคริสต์กับอิสลาม ในยุคครูเสด มาเป็นคริสต์กับยิว ยิวต่อต้านฝรั่งโดยการต่อต้านศาสนจักร เพราะศาสนจักรเป็นตัวตั้งตัวตีในการเล่นงานยิว เช่น ศาสนจักรประกาศห้ามยิวเก็บดอกเบี้ย บางแห่งทหารโป็ปฆ่ายิวยกหมู่บ้าน อย่างที่เจนัว คนหนึ่งในนั้นชื่อคริสโตเฟอร์ โคลัมบัส ศาสนจักรปรณามว่าการกระทำอันเลวร้ายของยิวมากจากการชี้นำของบรรดา “ปวงปราชญ์อาวุโสแห่งไซออน” (เช่น แรบไบ - ที่นำบทบัญญัติ “ตัลมุด” ที่มีเนื้อหาต่อต้านฝรั่งมาชี้นำ) ยิวแค้นศาสนจักร จึงใช้ศาสนาจักรนั่นแหละเป็นเป้าหมายบ่อนทำลาย หลักฐานหลายประการชี้ให้เห็นว่ายิวแทรกตัวเข้าไปในศาสนจักร อย่างกรณี ยิวแฝงตัวเข้าไปในคณะนักบวชเยซูอิต, เยซูอิตก่อตั้งโดย Ignatius de Loyola มีบทบาทเป็นพระสายทหารของศาสนจักร เลขานุการชาวยิวของ Loyola เองที่ชื่อPolanco ถูกพบว่าเป็นผู้วางแผนสังหาร Loyola

เพราะ Freemasons กลายเป็น Club ของผู้ที่มีอิทธิพลทางความคิด ทั้งปัญญาชน กวี นักปรัชญา ศาสตราจารย์ รัฐบุรุษ และนักการเมือง ที่สำคัญคนที่มีอิทธิพลทางความคิดด้านศาสนา ใครมีอิทธิพลใน Freemasons ก็เท่ากับมีอิทธิพลต่อความคิดของยุโรป และอเมริกา เช่นนี้..ไม่รู้ว่าว่าเป็นคำสั่งมาจาก ปวงปราชญ์อาวุโสแห่งไซออน” หรือจากที่ไหน แต่ยิวในยุโรปพร้อมใจกันโฆษณาไปทั่วว่า Freemasons มีรากเหง้า ชาติกำเนิด ตลอดจนความเป็นไปทั้งหมด มาจากยิว..Claim กันแบบนี้ หรือว่า ไซออนิสต์ ครอบครอง Freemasons ไปแล้วจริงๆ..

ฝรั่งนักเทววิทยา พบว่าศาสนาของพวกยิว ภายใต้ Concept “ตัลมุด” หรือกฎหมายยิว ที่รวมรวมเป็นคัมภีร์มาตั้งแต่ยุคบาบิโลน มีพิธีกรรมลี้ลับจำนวนมากไปปรากฎใน พิธีกรรมของสก๊อตส์ ... แสดงว่ายิวแทรกตัวเข้าไปในศาสนจักรได้ลึกกว่าที่คิดไว้มาก

หนังสือพิมพ์ The Jewish Tribune ตีพิมพ์ใน New York เมื่อวันที่ 28 ตุลาคม ปี 1927: ระบุว่า “Masonry is based on Judaism. Eliminate the teaching of Judaism from the Masonic ritual and what is left?" หรือ Mason อยู่บนรากฐานศาสนายิว ...ขจัดคำสอนของยิวออกจากพิธีกรรมของ mason ก็ไม่เหลืออะไรเลย”

แรบไบผู้โด่งดังแห่งยุคศตวรรษที่ 20 ชื่อ Isaac Wis กล่าวย้ำๆซ้ำๆเสมอ ในเทศนาและต่อสาธารณะว่า “Freemasonry is a Jewish establishment, whose history, grades, official appointments, passwords and explanations are Jewish from beginning to end. " ซึ่งเป็นการ Claim อย่างต้องการเอาเครดิต Freemason มาใส่เป็นลายมือของพวกยิว

ถ้า Freemasons คือ Zionist - Zionist คือ Freemasons เราก็ต้องตามต่อไปว่า Freemasons ไปทำวีรกรรม อะไรเอาไว้บ้าง..

นายกรณ์ จาติกวณิช สำเร็จการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายจาก วินเชสเตอร์ คอลเลจ (Winchester College) หลังจากนั้นศึกษาต่อปริญญาตรี สาขาปรัชญา การเมือง และเศรษฐศาสตร์ ที่ เซนต์จอห์น (St.John's) มหาวิทยาลัยอ๊อกซฟอร์ด (University of Oxford) จนสำเร็จการศึกษาได้รับ เกียรตินิยมอันดับสอง
