Shrouded Wisdom

The Turin Shroud is one of the most important and controversial Christian relics associated
with Jesus. It is claimed to be the linen cloth in which Jesus was supposedly wrapped
after the crucifixion, and imprinted on it is a seemingly photographic image of "Jesus."
Many Christians believe that the image was produced by a miracle of some kind -
Jesus was, after all, is their miracle-making Messiah.

The Church, however, is not so crazy about the Shroud. Why?

For starters, the relic has historically been associated more closely with the 'underground' Gnostic
tradition championed by the Templars and the like. The Church and Gnosticism are -
while both stemming from messianic tradition - bitter enemies and indeed it is not an exaggeration
to state that the Church tried to exterminate all 'heretic' Gnostics just as the Nazis tried to
eradicate all Jews. The Shroud, as well as the Grail, revered by the Gnostic 'underground stream'
may therefore represent something of a relic infected with a "virus" for the oppressor, the Church.

There is also the popular theory, supported by carbon-dating, that the Shroud was
actually created around the 1300s, the very period when the Shroud first surfaced officially.
What's more, some have postulated (see, for in stance, Turin Shroud by Lynn Picknett & Clive Prince)
that it was Leonardo Da Vinci who made the Shroud, and that the imprinted image is none other than
Leonardo himself. And Leonardo, one of the greatest geniuses in history, was likely more than
a little affiliated with the "heretical" tradition (claimed to be Grand Master of the Priory of Sion).

It almost seems as if the Shroud, as well as the Grail, is a form of the 'Trojan Horse' sent into
Catholic Christendom, waiting for its time to shake up the institution from inside by
revealing the explosive truth.

Like the Shroud, the head of Baphomet is said to have been revered by the Knights Templar,
as written in Holy Blood, Holy Grail:[/size]

Subjected to interrogation by the Inquisition, for example, a number of knights referred to
something called "Baphomet" - too many, and in too many different places, for Baphomet
to be the invention of a single individual or even a single preceptory... It would appear
that Baphomet was regarded with reverence, a reverence perhaps tantamount to idolatry...
In any case, we found indisputable evidence for the charge of secret ceremonies involving
a head of some kind.

Indeed, the existence of such a head proved to be one of the dominant themes running
through the Inquisition records... The head may also be connected with the famous Turin shroud,
which seems to have been in the possession of the Templars between 1204 and 1307, and which,
if folded, would have appeared as nothing more than a head...

[R]ecent speculation has linked the head, at least tentatively, with the severed head of
John the Baptist; and certain writers have suggested that the Templars were "infected" with
the Johannite or Mandaean heresy, which denounced Jesus as a false prophet and
acknowledged John as the true Messiah.[2]

Note that Baphomet, as well as the Shroud, seems to exert its significance specifically as a 'head'.
And this reinforces the coherent 'message' of the 'llama on Mars' picture, since it is the head of
the animal that produces the allusion to Baphomet; and its position near the 'Face on Mars',
also a head, seems to be a subtle way of telling us that this Martian 'head' is to be regarded as
a form of Baphomet/Shroud as well!



Adding more support to the idea is the fact that Leonardo, sometimes viewed as the 'Keeper of the Grail',
has a special connection with John the Baptist, the forerunner of Jesus, who was decapitated
(thus the 'detached head' link).

The Leonardo-John association is addressed by Picknett/Prince:

The only surviving sculpture that involved Leonardo in its making is the statue of
John the Baptist in the Baptistry in Florence... And Leonardo's last painting was
'John the Baptist', showing him with the same half-smile as 'The Mona Lisa' [by Leonardo],
and pointing straight upwards with the index finger of his right hand.

This in Leonardo's work is a sign always associated with John: in the 'Adoration of
the Magi' a person stands by the elevated roots of a carob tree - John's tree, symbol of
sacred blood - while making this gesture. In his famous cartoon of St Anne the subject
also does this, warning an oblivious Virgin.

Make of it what you will that the disciple whose face is perhaps accusingly close to Jesus' in
'The Last Supper' [also by Leonardo] is also making this gesture. All these gestures are
saying 'remember John'.[14]

'Coincidentally', the Shroud is today kept at Turin's Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.

In my research regarding the Freemason’s, United States Presidents and The Masonic Power Structure
I was constantly running into the number 13 and 33. This research confirmed that most of the founding
fathers were Masons. It also confirmed that most of the Presidents were Masons. My first run in with
13 of course was the 13 colonies. Second was the great Seal.

"The numbers 3, 7, 9,11,13, 33, 39. Any multiple of these numbers have special meaning to
the Illuminati. Notice that the Bilderberg Group has core of 39 members who are broken
into 3 groups of 13 members in each group. Notice that the core of 39 answers to the 13
who make up the Policy Committee. Take special notice that the 13 members of
the Policy Committee answer to the Round Table of Nine. You know that the original number
of states in the United States of America was 13. The Constitution has 7 articles and
was signed by 39 members of the Constitutional Convention.

We do not have to add them together to get the MARK OF THE BEAST OR
THE NUMBER OF HIS NAME. John does not tell us to ADD THEM TOGETHER.
It is not that we cannot add them together, but the point is John
does not TELL US TO ADD THEM TOGETHER.

We then will take a different tact to solve the riddle. We will use EXACTLY WHAT THE BIBLE TELLS
US: 600, 60 and 6. We will start with the REVERSE GREAT SEAL, the SEAL THAT DANIEL GAVE TO US.
Embedded at the base of the PYRAMID ARE THE ROMAN NUMERICAL LETTERS: "MDCCLXXVI".



Now you would normally read that as 1776, which is correct. THAT IS THE "OBVIOUS" MEANING
OF THOSE LETTERS. But what is the HIDDEN NUMERICAL VALUE OF THOSE LETTERS?

And what if we took all of the Roman Numerals together and added them up?

The Romans used the following letters for their number system: DCLXVI with D=500, C=100,
L=50, X=10, V=5, nd I - 1. The M letter was not used until much later. Now if we take these letters
and add them all up, we come to 666.

In the Nation’s Capitol the father of "ONE nation under God," George Washington,
is memorialized in the rotunda ceiling on a mural entitled, The Apotheosis of Washington.
The mural pictures the nations first father surrounded by 13 maidens.

On August 6, 1945 at 8:15 a.m. United States B-29 bomber Enola Gay, on Mission No. 13,

Just the below info would be enough to convince me of the occult nature of 13.

This is the completion of the sacred geometry of the Priory of Sion. Blessed be the SERPENT
who told Eve, "Thou shalt not surely die..." A Sacred Covenant was made between
ALMIGHTY GOD and the re-assembled 13^th Tribe of Levi on the 27^th of September, 1973.

Another interesting fact to consider is that of the 37 Presidents of the United States before
Jimmy Carter, at least 18 or 21 (depending on which source you believe) were close relatives.
That comes to somewhere between 48.6 percent and 56.7 percent-far to much to be coincidence,

How many of you remember when we were kids the first secret code we learned was the alphabet with
a number above each letter. Starting with the letter A with the number 1 above it ending with Z
which would of course represent the number 26. We used to pass coded letters to our buddies in class

In coming days and weeks, sock-puppets like George Bush will jawbone
about stopping Iran's "nuclear enrichment program."

On the holiest of Jewish holidays, Yom Kippur, in the autumn of 1931,
Guy de Rothschild walked through the massive street gate at 19 Rue Laffitte,
for the first time as an adult on adult business. The day was chosen carefully,
what others might perceive as the beginning of a banking career, to
a Rothschild it was entering into a priesthood. At twenty-two, Guy was
assigned letters to write. One of his correspondents was a Cardinal Pacelli,
future Pope PiusXII, then in charge of Holy office finances, and who kept
a small account at MM. de Rothschild Freres.

In the book, Hitler's Pope, John Cornwall's chronicles the life of
Eugenio Pacelli, Pope Pius XII. Pacellli was arguably the most
dangerous churchman in modern history. As Pontiff during
World War II, not only did he fail to speak out against Hitler's
Final Solution, but he personally made the Final Solution possible!

In the first decade of the twentieth century, Pacelli was a brilliant Vatican
lawyer who helped shape a new ideology of unprecedented papal power.
As papal nuncio in Munich and Berlin in the 1920's, he used cunning and
moral blackmail to impose Rome's power on Germany. In 1933, he negotiated
a treaty with Hitler, the Reich Concordat, which ensured that the Nazis
would rise unopposed by the most powerful Catholic community in the world- sealing,
by Hitler's own admission, the fate of the Jews in Europe.

How did Eugenio Pacelli become Rothschild's Pope?

Eugenio Pacelli was described routinely, during his pontificate and after
his death, as a member of the Black Nobility. The Black Nobility were
a small group of aristocratic families of Rome who had stood by the popes
following the seizure of their dominions in the bitter struggle for
the creation of the nation-state of Italy... Pacelli's father and grandfather
before him owed their distinction to membership of the caste of
lay Vatican lawyers in the service of the papacy.

Pacelli's immediate family association with the Holy See dates from 1819, when his grandfather,
Marcantonio Pacelli, arrived in the Eternal City to study canon law, or Church law,
as a protoge of a clerical uncle, Monsiignor Prospero Caterini. By 1834 Marcantonio had
become an advocate in the Tribunall of the Sacred Rota, an ecclesiastical court involved in
such activities as marriage annulments. While raising ten children (his second child being
Eugenio's father, Filippo, born in 1837), Marcantonio became a key official in the service
of Pius IX, popularly known as Pio Nono.

The quick tempered, charismatic, and epileptic Pio Nono (Giovanni Maria Mastai-Ferretti),
crowned in 1846, was convinced, as had been his predecessors from time immemorial,
that the papal territories forming the midriff of the Italian peninsula ensured the independence
of the successors to St. Peter. If the Supreme Pontiff were a mere inhabitant of a "foreign" country,
how could he claim to befree of local influence? Three years after his coronation, it looked as
if Pio Nono had ignominiously lost his sovereignty over the Eternal City to a republican mob.
On November 15, 1849, Count Pelligrino Rossi, a lay government minister of the papal states,
famous for his biting sarcasm, approached the Palazzo della Cancellleria in Rome and greeted
a sullen waiting crowd with a contemptuous smile. As he was about to enter the building,
a man leapt forward and stabbed him fatally in the neck. The next day, the Pope's Quirinal
summer palace above the city was sacked,, and Pio Nono, disguised in a priest's simple cassock
and a pair of large spectacles, fled to the seaside fortress of Gaeta within the safety of the neighboring
kingdom of Naples. He took with him Marcantonio Pacelli as his legal and political adviser.
From this fastness, Pio Nono hurled denunciations against the "outrageous treason of democracy"
and threatened prospective voters with excommunication. Only with the help of French bayonets,
and a loan from the Rothschild's, did Pio Nono contrive to return to the Vatican a year later to resume
a despised reign over the city of Rome and what was left of the papal territories.

From this we see that the Vatican owed it's existence to the Rothschild's from this point on.

who "lied to the American people."

Martin says Obama may be a threat to the Jewish community because he is a closet Muslim.

"I feel sad having to expose Barack Obama," says Martin, "but the man is a complete fraud.
The truth is going to surprise, and disappoint, and outrage many people who were drawn to him.
He has lied to the American people, and he has sought to misrepresent his own heritage.

"Obama's life story is vastly different from the one he portrays. My point: if he will lie about
his mother and father, what else is he lying about? Can we expect 'bimbo eruptions?'

Obama was born Aug. 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii, the son of Barack Hussein Obama Sr.
of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya, and Ann Dunham, of Wichita, Kan.

Obama senior met his wife, a white woman, when he was a student attending
the University of Hawaii. Obama junior was born in Hawaii.

When he was two-years old, Obama's parents divorced and his father returned to Kenya,
where he eventually served as a senior economist in the country's Ministry of Finance.

When Obama was six, his mother, an atheist, married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian Muslim
and moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. Obama's half-sister, Maya Soetoro was born after the family
moved to Indonesia.

Soetoro enrolled his stepson in one of Jakarta's Muslim Wahabbi schools.
Wahabbism is the radical teaching that created the Muslim terrorists

Obama later attended a Catholic school in Indonesia.

At age 10 Obama was sent back to Hawaii to be raised by his white maternal grandparents
and to attend the prestigious Punahou Academy.

He attended Occidental College, followed by Columbia College and Columbia University.

After Obama's parents divorced when he was two, he spent only one month with his father
before his father's death in a vehicle wreck when Obama was 20.

After college, Obama entered Harvard Law where he was elected president of the Harvard Law Review.
He received his law degree in 1991 and moved to Chicago where he took a job with a civil rights law firm.

Obama was elected to the Illinois State Senate in 1996. He lost in a bid for the U.S. House
of Representatives in 2000 and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004.

Obama says he is a Christian with "deep faith rooted in the Christian tradition."
He is a member of Trinity United Church of Christ of Chicago,
which on its web site declares to be a "congregation which is Unashamedly Black
and Unapologetically Christian" and "an African people" who "remain 'true to
our native land,' the mother continent, the cradle of civilization."

Trinity United Church of Christ adopted a "Black Value System" which pledges allegiance
"to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System" and
a "personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System."

According to ontheissues.org, Obama has proven himself to be a nearly perfect leftist democrat.
He is pro-abortion, anti-gun, against ban of same-sex marriage, against teaching family values
in public schools, against ban of flag burning, against privatizing Social Security,
against the death penalty and three strikes laws, for hiring more women and minorities,
for increased funding for health care and for campaign finance reform.

He believes in the separation of church and state - except when he campaigns in black churches.

Who is Barak Hussein Obama?

Many Democrats are promoting him in the media as the Democrat's best hope for
winning the White House in 2008.

Referring to Obama's 2006 year-end visit with friends and family in Hawaii, Obama's half-sister,
Maya Soetoro, recently stated: "He's going to make his decision here and announce it to us.
Then he's probably going to officially announce his decision once he returns."

The Catholic Church has admitted its error in the smearing of The Magdalene as a prostitute,
thereby removing an image that has dominated the minds of religious authors and painters
since the 6th century. And although Mary The Magdalene is almost always mentioned first

The large Trinity Column stands in the small sqaure in front of the Church of St. Nicholas.
This column and many others like it were erected in cities with a strong Catholic presence
in the 17 and 1800’s. Some were built in honor of the Holy Trinity, the Virgin Mary,

Day 6: Saturday, December 12th, 2009 (Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe):

Batalha and Nazare: Start the day with a morning Mass at the shrine celebrating
the great feast day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. A delicious breakfast follows the Mass.
Then enjoy the beautiful landscape on the way to Batalha to visit the Santa Maria da Vitória
(Holy Mary of Victory). This is the famous site where Portugal fought a decisive battle against

A local story tells us about a monk who brought a black Madonna statue from Palestine
to Merida, Spain. Later in the year 711, the statue was brought to this place.
To commemorate the miraculous intervention of the Black Madonna in saving the life of
a Templar in 1182, the Knight built her a chapel in thanksgiving. Because of the devotion
King Fernando I, the Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Nazare (Church of Our Lady of Nazareth)
was built in 1377. The Marian Shrine is situated on a section of the Nazare called Sitio,

Here is a video from Madonna’s recent Sticky and Sweet Tour that makes Madonna look like
the devil savior of her minions engulfed in hellish flames. Madonna is performing
“Like a Prayer” in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

She is such a deranged person her tour is named after the Sticky and Sweet tour of
the overly sexualized, religiously-disrespectful pop-tart Cora in the Drew Barrymore movie
Music and Lyrics. She must think it was funny that the movie was mocking her.
On the video screens, she has the Illuminati Eye of Horus shown almost
the whole time. That single left eye has never been considered a good thing.
It has represented the Egyptian Lucifer Horus, the Evil Eye, etc.

At the concert various names for God are displayed, and by the end of the song,
a Matrix-like light screen descends with some words on it saying,
“We have…[cannot discern] Light…To it we shall Return.”
The screen envelops her, it shows a cross and then the cross disappears, the white words
become red with black, and Madonna is engulfed in flames. Is the light really a good thing?
At the very least, one should not be burning an image of a cross; i.e.
Romans burning Christians; the KKK. It seems like the “light” of Lucifer
touted by the elite Mason Albert Pike who revised and invented the modern
Freemason rituals in his texts, such as Morals and Dogma. He was also
he founder of the KKK. Many of Pike’s revisions of the Masonic rituals

George Soros, financier and philanthropist as well as an archetype of the "post-capitalist" speculator
and prophet, is flattered and feared at the same time. He is responsible for the "Stock Market crash"
and Maecenas in some fifty countries. Today, according to estimates, his fortune accounts for
7 billion dollars. He said he was willing to finance campaigns aimed at preventing George W. Bush’s
reelection, in spite of the fact that he himself saved Bush Junior from the 1990 bankruptcy and is still
working with his father in the Carlyle Group, a powerful financial organization. He has been
equally active in many changes of governments and has been labeled a CIA cover.

Publicly committed with the US Presidential campaign to prevent George W. Bush’s reelection,
billionaire George Soros has unleashed a storm in Washington. Such personal decision has won
the famous speculator the sympathy of all those in the world who fear Bush’s reelection
as President of the United States.

George Soros was born in Hungary in 1930. As a result of the Second World War,
he emigrated to England in 1947. There he met anticommunist philosopher Karl Popper,
became his disciple and identified himself with the ideas promoted by this thinker.
In 1956 he moved to the United States where he created the "first hedging funds" devoted to
meet the demands of the large corporate fortunes. Since 1969, his main company, the Quantum Fund
(located in tax haven countries like the Netherlands Antilles first and then Curazao),
provides him with a mean income benefit of 34,5 % return investment per year.

The man who made the Bank of England collapse

George Soros has never generated any wealth, but he has enriched himself thanks to his activities
in the stock market. With seven billion dollars, his personal wealth would be the 28th most important
fortune in the United States, according to a classification made by the Forbes magazine in the year 2003.
He has been nicknamed "The man who made the Bank of England collapse", after an operation based on
the Sterling Pound (the British domestic currency) in September 1992, a stock market operation that
brought him one billion dollars without batting an eyelash, at the expense and to the detriment of
the United Kingdom taxpayers. Soros has become the paradigm of speculators. In spite of the fact that
he also had to face great losses during the Stock Market fall in 1987, the crisis in Russia in 1998 and
the implosion of the stock market speculations on Internet, Soros has been
the great beneficiary of the Asian economic crisis that affected,
especially, Thailand, Korea and Indonesia since 1997.

President and director in charge of a great number of societies to which he would devote more than
300 million dollars, Soros became one of the greatest philanthropists of modern times.
His main foundation, the Open Society Institute, takes its name after the philosophical project of his
maestro Karl Popper: to build open societies, meaning an awareness of imperfections and a willingness
to advance so as to create a better world. His main programs tend to defend human rights, to fight against
drug-dependency, to train political leaders and to develop the freedom of information. These objectives
agreed by consensus include controversial campaigns for the defense of homosexual’s rights,
the decriminalization of drugs and the establishment of substitution programs for drug-addicts.
This charitable and progressive activity has wisely contributed to wipe off his financial predator image.
Nevertheless, for many years now, many voices have suggested that
his philanthropic actions are nothing but a false facade and a cover
for the CIA and the State of Israel interventions in the world
and that he owes his fortune to financial crimes, not to the magic fingers of "King Midas". [1]
At the beginning, the Quantum Fund was administered by representatives
appointed by Lord Jacob Rothschild (Mijail Khodorkovsky’s proxy), Sir James Goldsmith
(who was a European deputy) and Edmond Safra (main Israeli negotiator of weapons).

Recently, the American newspaper The Nation revealed that George Soros, through the Harken Energy
and Spectrum 7 societies, was the one who, in 1990 saved George W. Bush from bankruptcy by
eliminating and absorbing his debts. When asked about this by the newspaper, Soros stated that
he did so in order to buy a "political influence" (sic) [2]

through the societies it controls.
The Carlyle Group is the eleventh provider of the Pentagon.

On December 20, 2002, George Soros was sentenced to pay a fine of 2,2 million dollars by
the Paris Correction Court for the commission of a financial crime, when he tried to attack
the Societe Generale, a French company, in the stock market.

Aside from the Open Society Institute (OSI), present in almost fifty countries,
George Soros has created or financed several very important and prestigious
associations and foundations the Human Rights Watch and the International Crisis Group.

aid Burma’s democracy movement by opening channels of communication into one of the world’s
most repressive states. The Burma Guide to Rights and Democracy (www.burmaguide.net)
is designed for easy access to a collection of resources for people interested in Burma’s future
as a democratic country where the rights of all peoples are honored under the rule of law.
News on Burma and tools for promoting a peaceful democratic transition are available in English,
as well as the six different languages spoken in Burma (Burmese, Chin, Kachin, Karen, Mon, and Shan).

The launch of BurmaGuide.Net comes on the eve of the 17th anniversary of the massive “8-8-88”
pro-democracy uprising in Burma, when thousands of demonstrators were killed by the Burmese
military junta. Today, the junta continues its repressive rule. By providing hundreds of summaries
of key issues and reports that are crucial to the process of democratic transition, BurmaGuide.Net

in Burmese), and offers access to a new Burmese Unicode font developed by the Burma Information
and Technology Team, an organization of Burmese refugees based in New Delhi that will provide
technological support for the website. The Unicode font will be accessible to many types of
computer systems. “BurmaGuide.Net will be an important resource for both the Burmese Diaspora and
people within Burma as internet access expands,” said Maureen Aung-Thwin, director of the Burma Project.
“The process of creating the website and researching its content has also built new capacities among
Burmese that will promote the country’s future democratic and economic development.”

พระพุทธศาสนาหินยานในญี่ปุ่น ไม่ปรากฏเป็นหลักศรัทธาในชีวิตประจำวัน
แต่ปรากฏในวงการศึกษาในมหาวิทยาลัยส่วนที่มีบทบาทในชีวิตประจำวัน คือ
มหายานนิกายเซนซึ่งพัฒนาการต่อจากนิกายสุขาวดี (โจโด) นิกายมาธยมิกะ(ซันรอน)
และนิกายโยคาจาร (ฮอสโซ) เซนจึงสอนเรื่อง “ศูนยตา” เช่นเดียวกันกับมาธยมิกะ
และเน้นเรื่อง “จิต” เช่นเดียวกับปรัชญาโยคาจาร การเข้าฌานหรือสมาธิก็เพื่อที่จะให้
ข้ามพ้นปัญหาอุปสรรคเข้าถึงสวรรค์แดนสุขาวดีซึ่งเป็นแดนเกษม ในขณะเดียวกัน
สภาพจิตของผู้ปฏิบัติก็เข้าถึงสภาวะแห่ง “อัทวยะ”กำจัดทวิภาพระหว่างจิตกับวัตถุ

เถรวาทหรือหินยานมีความเป็นพระพุทธศาสนาไม่ถึงร้อยเปอร์เซ็นต์
เพราะไม่ใช่สิ่งที่พระพุทธเจ้าสอนโดยตรง แต่เป็นสิ่งที่พระมหากัสสปเถระสอน
โลกตะวันตกรู้มหายานมากกว่ารู้เถรวาทความลึกซึ้งและความรุ่งเรืองของมหายานจึงโดดเดน
ในโลกตะวันตกตลอดมา แต่ในปัจจุบันมหายานก็ต้องมีการปรับตัวจึงเกิดแนวคิดในการ
สร้างมหายานใหม่ขึ้นมาก...

Catholic monk and Zen sensei:
Trappist's new title sign of church's 'inevitable' encounter with the East

On April 17, at St. Joseph's Abbey in Spencer, Mass., Trappist priest Kevin Hunt was
installed as a Zen sensei (teacher), making him the first North American Trappist to be
both Catholic monk and authorized instructor of Zen. Jesuit Yr. Robert Kennedy,
a Zen roshi (master) and Hunt's most recent teacher, oversaw the installation.
The monk's accomplishment, after years of study, represents an intimate
East-West union within one Catholic religious and drew letters of commendation
from the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism, and
Yr. Peter-Hans Kolvenbach, superior general of the Society of Jesus.

Hunt's achievement is "one that we can all celebrate in thanksgiving to God,"
wrote Kolvenbach. Many Christians, he noted, "have found Zen to be a valuable
instrument for progressing in the spiritual life. By coming to focus on
the present moment through the practice of the techniques of Zen meditation,
the Christian can become aware of God's immediate loving presence.
This awareness is especially needed in the modern world, where the realities
of divine grace are too often pushed to the margins of people's consciousness.

Alien Gods

People do not like to think. If one thinks, one must reach conclusions

It is an error to call Yahweh the only god of the Hebrews. Actually, they worshipped
the same gods as their neighbors; Yahweh was only one of their many gods.
The Old Testament tells the story from the perspective of the prophet's efforts to get
their people to abandon their "false gods" for the worship of the "one true and living God
of all the earth." Yahweh didn't evolve into an exclusive Jewish god until after the Exile.
The list below shows that the ancient Hebrews were just as heathen as their neighbors.



²And Joshua said to all the people, "Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, 'Your fathers
lived of old beyond the Euphrates, Terah, the father of Abraham and of Nahor;
and they served other gods. (Josh. 24:2)

As a result, we will find no attempt to discredit the existence of pagan gods. What we see instead,
is that the priests, who wrote Old Testament, forbade the worship of other gods while mandating
allegiance to their one territorial God, the God of Israel, who at times is described as the God of
other gods. Full recognition of the existence of other gods is burned into the first of
the Ten Commandments. In this context, Christ would qualify as an 'other' god.

³"You shall have no other gods before me. (Ex. 20:3)

By examining the list below, we get a sense that it was commonplace for collective groups to subscribe
to a god whom they thought was special to them. As Jeremiah tells us, every city had their gods.

²⁸But where are your gods that you made for yourself? Let them arise, if they can save you,
in your time of trouble; for as many as your cities are your gods, O Judah. (Jer. 2:28)

What is unique about the Jewish religion is its prohibition against making images of God.
While the ancient Jews had no images of Yahweh, they weren't as diligent about making images
with magical powers, as the passage below attests.

⁸And the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole;
and every one who is bitten, when he sees it, shall live."

⁹So Moses made a bronze serpent, and set it on a pole; and if a serpent bit any man,
he would look at the bronze serpent and live. (Num. 21:8-9)

Certainly, the Christians violated the Third Commandment against images
by displaying Jesus dying on the cross.

A thorough examination on the subject can be found in a scholarly tome called the Dictionary of Deities
and Demons in the Bible by Karel van der Toorn, Bob Becking, and Pieter W. van der Horst. Many of
the names of these ethereal creatures are hidden behind the English translations. It is often necessary
to tease them out by cross referencing them with a Strong's Dictionary of Bible Words,
Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and Brown-Driver-Briggs Hebrew and English Lexicon.

This list is meant to paint a picture of the haunted world as seen by the Bible's writers.
It also reveals a history of savage ruthlessness with which the Jewish priests dealt with
their own people and towards their neighbors whom they avowed as enemies. It would be
comparable to ruthlessness the Bolsheviks displayed in their attempt to convert their nation
to Communism.

Adonis

The Greeks adopted the name for the Mesopotamian dying vegetation god Dumuzi; Jews called him
'Tammuz'. He was killed by a wild boar during a hunting expedition and was condemned to
the underworld for six months of each year, during which time the earth's vegetation parches and
dies. Each spring he comes back to life to return to his lover, Aphrodite. According to tradition,
large numbers of women celebrated at his time of resurrection and mourned at his time of death.

We see evidence of Adonis worship by Hebrew women in Ezekiel 18:4.
There is a parallel with the Jesus' death in the winter and his resurrection
on Easter (see Gospel Zodiac). The name Adonis is related to adon,
a Semitic word meaning "lord" in the form of Adonai.



¹⁴Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD'S house which looked to the north;
and, behold, women sat there mourning for Adonis. (Ezek 8:14, Catholic Vulgate and
its English translation, the Douay-Rheims Version)

In newer revisions, Adonis is translated to Tammuz.

Adrammelech and Anammelech

Sepharvaim is the name of a city of an unknown location in Syria or Mesopotamia.
Not much is known about Adrammelech and Anammelech; but they were certainly
recognized as gods.

³¹and the Avvites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the Sepharvites burned their children in the fire
to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim. (2 Kings 17:31)

Amon

Amon was a well known sun god and an Egyptian supreme God; also spelled Amun.
Amon was perceived as a primeval deity present in the chaos at the creation of the cosmos.
God says he will punish Amon and other Egyptian gods.

²⁵The LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, said: "Behold, I am bringing punishment upon
Amon of Thebes, and Pharaoh, and Egypt and her gods and her kings, upon Pharaoh
and those who trust in him. (Jer. 46:25)

Apis

Apis, the sacred bull of Memphis, Egypt was a living personification of the creator god Ptah.
Jeremiah imagines his god beating their god.

¹⁵Why has Apis fled? Why did not your bull stand? Because the LORD thrust him down.
(Jer. 46:15)

Asherah

Asherah was a Semitic mother goddess of seventy gods including Baal and companion to
the supreme god El. Also spelled "Asheroth" and not to be confused with Ashtoreth.
Asherah was worshipped at least from the time of Judges to the end of the kingdom's history.
The people of Israel worshipped Asheroth.

⁷And the people of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the LORD,
forgetting the LORD their God, and serving the Baals and the Asheroth. (Judg. 3:7)

King Manasseh, king of Judah, built an image of Asherah.

⁷And the graven image of Asherah that he had made he set in the house of
which the LORD said to David and to Solomon his son, "In this house,
and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel,
I will put my name for ever; (2 Kings 21:7)

Ashtoreth

Ashtoreth has been worshipped two ways, as a goddess of love and fertility and as an astral deity,
possibly the Venus star. Spelled Astaroth in plural form and not to be confused with Asherah.

God couldn't stop the people under Solomon's rule from worshipping Ashterah.

³³Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians,.
(1 Kings. 11:33)

King Solomon built a temple in her honor.

¹³And the king defiled the high places that were east of Jerusalem to the south of the mount of
corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth the abomination of
the Sidonians and for Chemosh the abomination of the Ammorites. (2 Kings 22:13)

Baal

Baal was a god of the Canaanites and Phoenicians. In his earlier form, he was a god of wind
and weather, and father of seven storm gods. In later years, he became a vegetation god of fertility.
To the Canaanites, he was the son of El; to the Phoenicians, he was the son of Dagon.

the spring guarantees the return of vegetation. In the autumn, when he dies and disappears
into the underworld, vegetation dies.

A second use of the name baal was as the name of innumerable local gods controlling fertility
of the soil and of domestic animals. Literally, baal means lord or owner. The ancient Jews were
highly involved in many variations of Baal worship. The different variations of baal worship
are recognized by their hyphenated baal names.

Baal is said to have sired a bull calf before he descended into the underworld. This probably accounts
for why the Israelites built the golden calves when Moses was getting
the Ten Commandments.

¹⁶And they forsook all the commandments of the LORD their God, and made for themselves
molten images of two calves; and they made an Asherah, and worshiped all the host of heaven,
and served Baal. (2 Kings 17:16)

Baal worship continues into the book of Judges.

⁶And the people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, and served the Baals
and the Ashtaroth, the gods of Syria, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the Ammonites,
and the gods of the Philistines; and they forsook the LORD, and did not serve him. (Judges 10:6)

³³As soon as Gideon died, the people of Israel turned again and played the harlot after the Baals,
and made Baal-berith their god. (Judges 8:33) It continued almost to the exile in the book of 2 Kings.

²⁸Thus Jehu wiped out Baal from Israel. (2 Kings 10:28)

After a victory, David named Baal-perazim after Baal.
²⁰And David came to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said,
"The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a bursting flood."
Therefore the name of that place is called Baal-perazim. (2 Sam. 5:20)

The names Baal and Judah are combined.

²And David arose and went with all the people who were with him from Baale-judah,
to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the LORD of hosts
who sits enthroned on the cherubim. (2 Sam. 6:2)

Baal zebub

Baal zebub interprets literally as lord of the flies. Assumed to be a God who could cure or
cause disease. The Old Testament sees him as the God of Ekron while the New Testament
translates him to "Beelzebul," the prince of demons.

²Now Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper chamber in Samaria, and lay sick; so he sent
messengers, telling them, "Go, inquire ofBaalzebub, the god of Ekron, whether I shall recover
from this sickness." (2 Kings 1:2)

²⁴But when the Pharisees heard it they said, "It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons,
that this man casts out demons." (Matt. 12:24)

Bel

With the Babylonians, Bel translates to Lord. The equivalent Canaanite form was Baal,
and is identical to Adon in Hebrew. Bel was a title conferred by
the Babylonians to their God Marduk, paralleling the Israelite use of Lord
when referring to Yahweh.

Bel is described as a rival god.

⁴⁴And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and take out of his mouth what he has swallowed.
The nations shall no longer flow to him; the wall of Babylon has fallen. (Jer. 51:44)

²"Declare among the nations and proclaim, set up a banner and proclaim, conceal it not,
and say: 'Babylon is taken, Bel is put to shame, Merodach is dismayed. Her images are put to
shame, her idols are dismayed.' (Jer. 50:2)

¹Bel bows down, Nebo stoops, their idols are on beasts and cattle; these things you carry are
loaded as burdens on weary beasts. (Isa. 46:1)

Chemosh

Chemosh is recognized as a Moabite god.

²⁴Will you not possess what Chemosh your god gives you to possess?
And all that the LORD our God has dispossessed before us, we will possess. (Judges 11:24)

³³Because that they have forsaken me, and have worshipped Ashtoreth the goddess of
the Zidonians, Chemosh the god of the Moabites, and Milcom the god of the children of Ammon,
and have not walked in my ways, to do that which is right in mine eyes, and to keep my statutes
and my judgments, as did David his father. (1 Kings 11:33)

Dagon

Dagon was a grain and fertility god worshipped by the Philistines and the Canaanites.
Clearly, he was seen as a rival god to the God of Israel.

²³Now the lords of the Philistines gathered to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god,
and to rejoice; for they said, "Our god has given Samson our enemy into our hand." (Judges 16:23)

⁷And when the men of Ashdod saw how things were, they said, "The ark of the God of Israel
must not remain with us; for his hand is heavy upon us and upon Dagon our god." (1 Sam. 5:7)

El




El was known as the high God of the Canaanites who resided on a sacred mountain.
In Hebrew, El can also mean God in the general sense. Our concern here is for
when God specifically refers to the Canaanite god El.

'God' is substituted 224 times for El. The Old Testament does not disparage El, which suggest
he was identified with Yahweh. Even the word 'Israel' has El in it.

The Jewish patriarch, Abraham, worshipped El.

²²But Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have sworn to the LORD [Yahweh] God [El]
Most High, maker of heaven and earth, (Gen. 14:22)

Jacob erected an altar to El and called it "El the god of Israel."

¹⁸And Jacob came safely to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan,
on his way from Paddan-aram; and he camped before the city.

¹⁹And from the sons of Hamor, Shechem's father, he bought for a hundred pieces of money
the piece of land on which he had pitched his tent.

²⁰There he erected an altar and called it El-Elohe-Israel. (Gen 33:20) El told Jacob to go to Egypt,
here he will make him a great nation.



³Then he said, "I am God [El], the God Elohim] of your father; do not be afraid to go down to Egypt;
for I will there make of you a great nation. (Gen. 46:3)

It was during the time of Joshua when Yahweh was identified with El.

³⁰Then Joshua built an altar on Mount Ebal to the LORD [Yahweh], the God [El] of Israel, (Josh. 8:30)

Isaiah describes the stars of El.

¹³You said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God [El] I will set my throne
on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far north; (Isaiah 14:13)

Fortune and Destiny

Many gods were credited with the ability to determine destiny. To Roman cultists,
Fortune was known in Latin as Fortuna the God of good luck and success.
In Hebrew, the equivalent name is Gad. Destiny translates to Meni in Hebrew,
another god of good fortune.

¹¹But you who forsake the LORD, who forget my holy mountain, who set a table for
Fortune [Gad] and fill cups of mixed wine for Destiny [Meni]; (Isa. 65:11)

The KJV disguises the mention of alien gods.

¹¹But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare
a table for that troop [Gad], and that furnish the drink offering unto that number [Meni].
(Isa. 65:11 KJV)

Gad

Gad is the name of a deity of good luck, equivalent to the Latin Fortuna.
Gad has been traced to Canaanite origins and is also one of the names of an Israelite tribe.

⁸And beyond the Jordan east of Jericho, they appointed Bezer in the wilderness on the tableland,
from the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead, from the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan,
from the tribe of Manasseh. (Josh. 20:8)

God(s)



It was standard practice for nations and kingdoms to have their own gods.To rival kingdoms,
Yahweh was just another local God. In these passages, the Jews recognized other gods
as true gods and as rival gods.

¹⁵Now therefore do not let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you in this fashion, and do not
believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from
my hand or from the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you out of my hand!
'" (2 Chron. 2:15)

¹⁴You shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who are round about you;

¹⁵for the LORD your God in the midst of you is a jealous God; lest the anger of the LORD
your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth. (Deut. 6:14-15)

³⁴Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah?
Have they delivered Samaria out of my hand? (2 Kings 18:34)

¹¹The LORD will be terrible against them; yea, he will famish all the gods of the earth,
and to him shall bow down, each in its place, all the lands of the nations. (Zeph. 2:11)

Gods of the Amorites

¹⁵And if you be unwilling to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve,
whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites
in whose land you dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." (Josh. 24:15)

Gods of Damascus and Syria

²³For he sacrificed to the gods of Damascus which had defeated him, and said, "Because
the gods of the kings of Syria helped them, I will sacrifice to them that they may help me."
But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel. (2 Chron. 28:23)

Gods of Egypt

¹²For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in
the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment:
I am the LORD. (Ex. 12:12)

Gods of Edom

²⁰But Amaziah would not listen; for it was of God, in order that he might give them into
the hand of their enemies, because they had sought the gods of Edom. (2 Chron. 25:20)

God of Ekron

Marduk

Spelled Meradach in the Bible, Marduk was a God of Babylon,

Queen of heaven

'Queen of heaven', probably identifies with Ishtar, She was known in Mesopotamia
as a goddess of love and war and the planet Venus.

¹⁸The children gather wood, the fathers kindle fire, and the women knead dough,
to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods,
to provoke me to anger. (Jer. 7:18)

¹⁷But we will do everything that we have vowed, burn incense to the queen of heaven

Spirit of Egypt

Spirits were everywhere in haunted Bibleland. Egypt had them too.

Tammuz



Mary and Jesus? No, this is the way the Egyptians portrayed Isis and Horus.
If you lived in ancient Babylon this would have been Queen Semiramis and Tammuz.

Tammuz is a Hebrew rendition of a Mesopotamian deity known as Dumuzi.
One credible interpretation has it that Tammuz was the prototype of the Dying God,
whose annual death and resurrection from the dead, personified the yearly decay and
revival of life. One of the months of the Jewish calendar is named after Tammuz.
It is fundamentally identical with Osiris in Egypt and Adonis among the Phoenicians.
This identification is implied in the Catholic Vulgate Bible.

Tiamat

Tehom in Hebrew, is etymologically related to Tiamat, the personified primeval ocean that was
defeated by Marduk. Tiamet can be found in the Babylonian creation epic, Enuma Elis.

and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters. (Gen. 1:2)

Unnamed gods

From beginning to end, the belief in the existence of other gods permeated the Bible.
Joshua tells his people how their ancestors worshipped other gods.

'Your fathers lived of old beyond the Euphrates, Terah, the father of Abraham and of Nahor;
and they served other gods. (Joshua 24:2)

Paul believed there were many gods and lords in existence.

(8) โดยโบสถ์แห่งหนึ่งได้รับความเสียหายหนัก ท่ามกลางความขัดแย้งที่ทวีความรุนแรงขึ้น

ผู้บัญชาการตำรวจกรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์กล่าวว่า เกิดเหตุเพลิงไหม้ที่โบสถ์เดซา เมลาวาตี เมื่อเวลาประมาณ 00.25 น.
ตามเวลาท้องถิ่นในเช้าวันนี้ ไม่มีรายงานผู้บาดเจ็บ และกำลังสอบสวนสาเหตุ ซึ่งคาดว่าเป็นการวางเพลิง
โดยมีผู้เห็นคนร้าย 2 คนขี่รถจักรยานยนต์เข้ามา และปาระเบิดเพลิงใส่ ทำให้พื้นที่ชั้นล่างเสียหายร้อยละ 90

ยิ่งไปกว่านั้น ยังมีการปาระเบิดขวดดังกล่าวเข้าไปในบริเวณโบสถ์อีก 2 แห่ง ทว่า
ไม่ได้รับความเสียหายร้ายแรงแต่อย่างใด

ด้านฮิชัมมุดดิน ฮุสเซน รัฐมนตรีมหาดไทยของมาเลเซียวอนขอให้ประชาชนอยู่ในความสงบ
ท่ามกลางความขัดแย้งเกี่ยวกับการใช้คำว่า “อัลเลาะห์” เรียกศาสดาของชาวคริสต์
พร้อมการเคลื่อนไหวเพื่อให้ชนกลุ่มน้อยในมาเลเซียมั่นใจว่าพวกเขาจะปลอดภัย

ทั้งนี้ ในสัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา ศาลฎีกาตัดสินอนุญาตให้หนังสือพิมพ์เดอะ เฮรัลด์ ในเครือคาทอลิก
ใช้คำว่า “อัลเลาะห์” เรียกพระเจ้าของชาวคริสต์ได้ด้วย ซึ่งรัฐบาลชี้ว่าคำๆ นี้
ควรใช้กันเฉพาะชาวมุสลิมเท่านั้น ทั้งยังยื่นอุทธรณ์ต่อศาลเพื่อให้พิจารณาคดีดังกล่าวใหม่อีกครั้ง

ประเด็นดังกล่าวยังส่งผลกระทบต่อความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างชาวมุสลิม ซึ่งเป็นประชากรส่วนใหญ่ของประเทศ
กับชาวจีน และชาวอินเดีย ซึ่งเป็นชนส่วนน้อย ที่มีทั้งศาสนาคริสต์ ฮินดู และพุทธ

2. เสวนาในหัวข้อ “เผชิญความขัดแย้งด้วยสันติ”

สืบเนื่องจากสถานการณ์ด้านการเมืองและสังคมที่มีความขัดแย้งด้านความคิดระหว่างกลุ่มผู้สนับสนุน
ผู้นำรัฐบาลและฝ่ายพันธมิตรประชาชนเพื่อประชาธิปไตยซึ่งเรียกร้องให้ผู้นำรัฐบาลลาออก
ได้ทวีความรุนแรงมากขึ้น เห็นได้จากการทำร้ายฝ่ายตรงข้ามที่คิดเห็นไม่เหมือนตน
ซึ่งปัญหานี้ดูเหมือนจะยังหาทางออกไม่ได้ ในสถานการณ์ที่มีความขัดแย้งเช่นนี้
แต่ดูเหมือนว่าแนวทางสันติวิธีกลับยังไม่ค่อยถูกนำมาใช้เพื่อลดความขัดแย้งและความรุนแรง



ด้วยเหตุนี้ ยส. จึงเห็นว่าการให้ความรู้และข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับแนวทางสันติวิธีแก่คริสตชน เป็นแนวทางหนึ่ง
ที่น่าจะเป็นประโยชน์ต่อผู้คนในสังคมไทย จึงเป็นที่มาของการเชิญ รศ.ดร.โคทม อารียา ประธานสภา
ที่ปรึกษาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติ ประธานมูลนิธิสันติภาพและวัฒนธรรม และเป็นผู้อำนวยการศูนย์ศึกษา
และพัฒนาสันติวิธี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล นักวิชาการผู้ที่สังคมยอมรับว่าเป็นผู้ที่ยึดแนวทางสันติวิธีในชีวิตและ

**"โคทม"วอนเปลี่ยนวิธีแก้ปัญหา

นายโคทม อารียา ประธานมูลนิธิเพื่อสิทธิมนุษยชนและการพัฒนา กล่าวในงานเสวนาของมูลนิธิเอเชีย
หัวข้อ "สังคมไทยกับการส่งเสริมสิทธิมนุษยชน" ว่า เหตุการณ์รุนแรงที่ อ.ตากใบ จ.นราธิวาส
สืบเนื่องมาจากสังคมเน้นให้มีการเคารพเสียงส่วนใหญ่แต่ละเลยเสียงส่วนน้อย โดยไม่เปิดโอกาสให้
เสียงส่วนน้อยได้มีโอกาสแสดงความคิดเห็น จึงอยากเสนอแนวทางในการแก้ไขปัญหาโดยรัฐต้องเปลี่ยน
ทัศนะคติในการแก้ไขปัญหาใหม่ รวมทั้งปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมในการแก้ไขปัญหา ลดความขัดแย้ง
ระหว่างภาครัฐกับประชาชนในพื้นที่ให้ได้ ต้องยอมรับความหลากหลาย ความต่างทางด้านวัฒนธรรม

"นายกรัฐมนตรีควรทำตัวเสมือนรัฐบุรุษจะดีกว่า คือ คอยให้นโยบายและแนวทางกับคนอื่นไปปฏิบัติ
แล้วตนเองคอยดู หากพบว่ามีความผิดพลาดก็แก้ไขตักเตือน ไม่ใช่ว่าพลาดแล้วยังบอกว่าทำดีที่สุดแล้ว
เพราะอย่างนี้ถือว่าเป็นการทำงานแบบซีอีโอ ที่บางครั้งปฏิบัตินิยมมากกว่าเป็นหลักการนิยม
จริงอยู่หลายภาคส่วนของสังคมที่จะลงไปรับทราบปัญหาของคนในพื้นที่และพยายามช่วยแก้ไข
แต่ก็ถือเป็นองค์ประกอบย่อยเท่านั้น ขณะที่รัฐถือเป็นองค์ประกอบใหญ่ในการที่จะแก้ไขปัญหาได้
ถ้ารัฐดำเนินนโยบายและแนวทางในการแก้ไขไม่ถูกต้องปัญหาก็ไม่มีทางที่จะแก้ไขได้" นายโคทมกล่าว

ด้านนางสุนี ไชยรส กรรมการสิทธิมนุษยชน กล่าวว่า สิ่งที่หนึ่งที่เกิดขึ้นเวลานี้คือรัฐไม่ยอมรับการท้วงติง
จากฝ่ายตรงข้าม มักจะอ้างว่าหากมีการวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ในเหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นมากจนเกินไปจะเป็นการเปิดช่อง
ให้กับต่างประเทศมาวิพากษ์วิจารณ์นโยบายของรัฐบาลได้ เห็นว่าการเป็นห่วงในเรื่องนี้เป็นสิ่งที่ไม่ถูกต้อง
ทั้งที่ความจริงแล้วอาจจำเป็นต้องเปิดรับความเห็นจากฝ่ายต่างๆ เพื่อนำไปสู่การแก้ไขปัญหา
หากรัฐทำได้ก็ถือว่าเป็นสิ่งที่สง่างามในสายตาของต่างประเทศและประชาชน

ชั้น 9 อาคารอัสสัมชัญ 2003 โดยมี ภราดา ดร. อานันท์ ปรีชาวุฒิ อธิการโรงเรียนอัสสัมชัญ พร้อมด้วย

หลังจากงานแซยิด อาจารย์ป๋วย อึ๊งภากรณ์ในโอกาสที่มีอายุครบ ๕ รอบ ผ่านไปได้ ๘ วัน
กลุ่มประสานงานศาสนาเพื่อสังคม(กศส.) ก็ก่อตั้งขึ้น ในวันที่ ๑๗ มีนาคม ๒๕๑๙ อันที่จริง
เหตุการณ์ทั้งสองนั้นมิได้มีอะไรเกี่ยวข้องหรือสืบเนื่องกันเลย สิ่งที่คล้ายคลึงกันมีเพียงประการเดียวคือ
สถานการณ์ทางการเมืองที่แวดล้อมเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าว ในเวลานั้นบรรยากาศแห่งความรุนแรงแผ่ซ่านไปทั่ว
มีการแบ่งแยกเป็นฝักฝ่ายอย่างชัดเจนและแข็งกร้าว ต่างแสดงอาการมุ่งร้ายต่อกันไม่แต่เฉพาะคำพูด
หากยังทำร้ายกัน ถึงขั้นลอบสังหารฝ่ายที่เห็นแย้งกับรัฐบาลและสถาบันอันทรงอำนาจ สัญญาณรัฐประหารนั้น
นองเลือดปรากฏชัดเจนขึ้นทุกที ก่อนหน้าวันแซยิดไม่กี่สัปดาห์ บุญสนอง บุณโยทยาน เลขาธิการ
พรรคสังคมนิยมแห่งประเทศไทย ก็ถูกลอบสังหาร ยังนักเรียน นักศึกษา ชาวนา ประชาชนอีกมากมาย
ก็ถูกลอบฆ่าไล่เลี่ยกัน โดยที่ตัวอาจารย์ป๋วยเองก็ตกเป็นเป้าที่เขาเฝ้าปองร้ายอยู่แล้ว ดังนั้นในวันแซยิด
จึงมีข่าวลือว่า จะมีการก่อวินาศกรรมที่หอศิลปวัฒนธรรม มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ซึ่งเวลานั้นยังเรียกกันว่า
หอประชุมเล็ก อันเป็นที่จัดงานดังกล่าว แต่ก็ไม่มีอะไรเกิดขึ้น ซ้ำผู้คนยังมาร่วมงานกันคับคั่งจนแน่นหอประชุม
อย่างไรก็ตาม หนึ่งสัปดาห์ให้หลัง สถานการณ์ก็เขม็งเกลียวขึ้น ข่าวลือแพร่สะพัดว่า จะมีรัฐประหารในเดือนนั้นเอง
อันประจวบเหมาะกับที่ศูนย์กลางนิสิต-นักศึกษาแห่งประเทศไทยเตรียมชุมนุม ประชาชนและเดินขบวนครั้งใหญ่
เพื่อขับไล่ฐานทัพสหรัฐ ซึ่งมีกำหนดต้องถอนออกจากประเทศไทยในวันที่ ๒๐ มีนาคม
(และเมื่อเคลื่อนขบวนไปสถานทูตสหรัฐ วันรุ่งขึ้นก็มีการปาระเบิดใส่ฝูงชน คนตายทันที ๗-๘ คน)
บุคคลหลายฝ่ายที่ตั้งตัวเป็นกลางพยายามคัดค้านรัฐประหารอย่างเต็มที่ ในช่วงนั้นเองที่ศาสนาทั้งพุทธและคริสต์
อันรวมทั้งผู้นำคาทอลิกและโปรเตสแตนท์ ก็ได้มีการประชุมกันที่สภาคริสตจักรในประเทศไทย
เพื่อพิจารณาถึงประเด็นสำคัญอันว่าด้วย “ศาสนากับการพัฒนา” โดยโยงไปถึงบทบาทของศาสนิกชน
ในท่ามกลางสถานการณ์การเมืองอันวิกฤต ที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นในเวลานั้น ผู้นำเสนอ กันได้แก่
บาทหลวงประสิทธิ์ สมานจิต โกศล ศรีสังข์ สุลักษณ์ ศิวรักษ์ ตลอดจนผู้ร่วมประชุมทั้งหมดประมาณ ๓๐ คน
มีความเห็นร่วมกันว่า ในสถานการณ์เช่นนั้นศาสนิกชนมิอาจอยู่นิ่งเฉยได้ หากจำต้องคัดค้านความรุนแรงและ
ความอยุติธรรมที่กำลังเกิดขึ้น และจักต้องสถาปนาสันติธรรมให้บังเกิดขึ้นด้วยหลักอหิงสา ดังนั้นจึงได้ร่วมกัน
จัดตั้งศูนย์ประสานงานศาสนาเพื่อสังคมขึ้น กับออกแถลงการณ์แสดงจุดยืนของศาสนิกชนและเตือนสติทุกฝ่าย
ให้ปรองดองกัน ทั้งยังประณามการใช้ความรุนแรงตลอดจนรัฐประหารที่มีแนวโน้มว่าจะเกิดขึ้น

ในเวลานั้น ศูนย์ประสานงานศาสนาเพื่อสังคมยังมีโครงสร้างอย่างหลวม ๆ เป็นเพียงเวทีสำหรับการแลกเปลี่ยน
ความคิดเห็น ประสบการณ์การทำงานทางสังคมของศาสนิกชนและกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างกัน
กิจกรรมระยะแรกได้แก่การทำความรู้จักหน่วยงานทางศาสนาของผู้ร่วมก่อตั้งศูนย์ อาทิ
สภาคาทอลิกแห่งประเทศไทยเพื่อการพัฒนา มหาจุฬาลงกรณ์ราชวิทยาลัย นอกจากนั้นยังมีการเสวนา
เกี่ยวกับประสบการณ์ของศาสนาต่าง ๆ ที่มีบทบาทในการรับใช้สังคม ประเดิมด้วยรายการของฝ่ายคริสต์โดย
บาทหลวงบุญเลื่อน หมั้นทรัพย์ ซึ่งเวลานั้นเป็นเลขาธิการสำนักงานพัฒนาคนแห่งสหพันธ์สภาพระสังฆราช
แห่งเอเชีย ก่อนที่ท่านจะได้รับแต่งตั้งเป็นบิชอปไม่นานหลังจากนั้น (เนื้อหาการบรรยายดังกล่าวได้ตีพิมพ์
เป็นบทความเรื่อง “คริสต์ศาสนากับการต่อสู้เพื่อสิทธิเสรีภาพในเกาหลีและฟิลิปปินส์” ในปาจารยสาร ปีที่ ๕
ฉบับที่ ๑๙ กรกฎาคม – สิงหาคม ๒๕๑๙) การเสวนาครั้งที่สอง ดูเหมือนจะเป็นรายการของฝ่ายโปรเตสแตนท์
(ตามกำหนดผู้นำเสวนาคืออาจารย์โกศล ซึ่งเป็นเลขาธิการสภาคริสตจักรในประเทศไทยขณะนั้น
หากแต่ติดธุระด่วนที่เชียงใหม่ ไม่อาจมาได้) รายการที่สาม ดูเหมือนกำหนดให้เป็นการเสวนาเกี่ยวกับ
ขบวนการสรรโวทัยของชาวพุทธในศรีลังกา แต่เกิดเหตุการณ์ ๖ ตุลาคมเสียก่อน จึงล้มเลิกไป
ก่อนเหตุการณ์นองเลือดดังกล่าว อาจารย์ป๋วยไม่ได้มีอะไรข้องเกี่ยวกับ กศส. ซึ่งเวลานั้นยังเป็น “ศูนย์”
มิใช่ “กลุ่ม” แม้จะเป็นองค์กรที่ประกาศจุดยืนทางด้านอหิงสธรรมก็ตาม องค์กรสันติวิธีที่ท่านเกี่ยวข้องมากกว่า
เห็นจะเป็น “กลุ่มสันติวิธี” ซึ่งมีโคทม อารียา เป็นหัวเรี่ยวหัวแรงมาแต่แรก กลุ่มนี้มีการพบปะกันสม่ำเสมอ
ที่สภาคณาจารย์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ซึ่งอาจารย์โคทมเวลานั้นมีตำแหน่งสำคัญอยู่ ถึงอาจารย์ป๋วย
จะไม่เคยมาร่วมประชุมกับกลุ่มนี้ แต่กิจกรรมอื่น ๆ ของกลุ่มนั้น ท่านมาร่วมอย่างเอาใจใส่ยิ่ง ไม่ว่าจะเป็น
การบรรยายที่กลุ่มจัดเป็นครั้งคราว ที่สำคัญคือการบรรยายเรื่อง “สันติวิธีการการแสวงหาทางที่สาม” โดย
นิโคลัส เบนเนตต์ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญทางการศึกษาของยูเนสโกประจำประเทศไทย (ดูบทความในชื่อเดียวกัน
ในปาจารยสารเล่มเดียวกัน) ยิ่งการสัมมนาเรื่อง “ปัญหาสังคมไทยในปัจจุบันที่สภาสังคมสงเคราะห์
แห่งประเทศไทยด้วยแล้ว อาจารย์ป๋วยนอกจากจะมาร่วมรายการแล้ว ยังเป็นผู้บรรยายรายการสุดท้าย
ในหัวข้อ “เป้าหมายและวิธีการที่เหมาะสมสำหรับสังคมไทย” เนื้อหาการบรรยายดังกล่าวภายหลังถูกนำไป
ตีพิมพ์ในปาจารยสาร (ปีที่ ๕ ฉบับที่ ๒๐ กันยายน-ตุลาคม ๒๕๑๙) แต่ดูเหมือนบทความนี้จะถูกมองข้ามไป
ทั้ง ๆ ที่มีความสำคัญยิ่งในทัศนะของข้าพเจ้า เพราะแสดงถึงจุดยืนทางด้านสันติประชาธรรมอย่างมั่นคง
ชนิดที่ไม่ยอมลดราวาศอกให้แก่สถานการณ์อันน่าสิ้นหวังในเวลานั้น ในการสัมมนาครั้งนั้น
ท่านถูกนักเศรษฐศาสตร์รุ่นใหม่วิพากษ์ผลงานทางเศรษฐกิจของท่านอย่างรุนแรง โดยเฉพาะที่ท่านเน้น
เรื่องการจำเริญเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจและมุ่งสร้างพื้นฐานเศรษฐกิจ อาทิ ถนน เขื่อน ไฟฟ้า แทนที่จะเน้น
การกระจายรายได้อย่างยุติธรรม แต่ท่านก็หาได้โกรธเคืองอะไรไม่ เพราะปัญหาข้อนี้ท่านได้แลเห็นและ
ยอมรับว่าเป็นความผิดพลาดของท่านมานานแล้ว สิ่งหนึ่งที่ผู้ร่วมประชุมจะลืมได้ยากก็คือ กลุ่มขวาจัด
ที่เข้ามาแจกแถลงการณ์ในนาม “กลุ่มค้างคาวไทย” โจมตีผู้จัดว่าเป็นเครื่องมือของคอมมิวนิสต์
ซึ่งแน่นอนว่า อาจารย์ป๋วยก็ตกเป็นเป้าการโจมตีครั้งนี้ด้วย

หลังเหตุการณ์ ๖ ตุลาคม กลุ่มและศูนย์ทั้งหลายที่มิได้สยบต่อฝ่ายขวาจัดก็ยุบเลิกไป ส่วนศูนย์ประสานงาน
ศาสนาเพื่อสังคมนั้นก็ดูเหมือนว่าจะไม่มีใครคิดฟื้นขึ้นมาอีก จนเมื่อพวกเราในกลุ่มอหิงสาคิดที่จะช่วยเหลือ
ผู้ต้องขังที่ถูกจับในเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าว ซึ่งเวลานั้นถูกส่งมารวมกันที่กรุงเทพ ฯ ในเรือนจำ ๔ แห่งคือ
เรือนจำชั่วคราว บางเขน ทัณฑสถานหญิง เรือนจำชั่วคราวลาดยาว และเรือนจำกลางบางขวาง เวลานั้น
เราคิดได้แต่เพียงว่า จะช่วยทางด้านกำลังใจ ปัจจัยที่จำเป็น และติดตามข่าวคราวของเขาว่าเป็นตายร้ายดี
ประการใด ถูกทรมานหรือไม่ เพราะเวลานั้นข่าวลือในทางร้ายเกี่ยวกับสภาพผู้ต้องขัง โดยเฉพาะ
ผู้นำนักศึกษานั้น แพร่สะพัดมาก จนแยกไม่ออกว่าอะไรเป็นจริง อะไรเป็นเท็จ แต่เราจะทำเช่นนั้นได้
จำต้องอาศัยความช่วยเหลือของผู้ใหญ่ที่มีชื่อเสียง เกียรติคุณ พอที่จะเป็น “ร่ม” ให้เราได้บ้าง เราแลไม่เห็นใคร
นอกจากผู้ใหญ่ที่เคยเป็นตัวตั้งตัวตีศูนย์ประสานงานศาสนาเพื่อสังคม
ที่ยัง อยู่ในเมืองไทย อาทิ คุณพ่อบุญเลื่อน คุณพ่อประสิทธิ์ อาจารย์โกศล
ส่วนกลุ่มสันติวิธีนั้น ก็แลเห็นแต่อาจารย์โคทมเป็นหลัก
เมื่อได้ปรึกษาหารือกันกับผู้ใหญ่เหล่านี้ ตลอดจนมิตรสหายอีกหลายคนซึ่งช่วยเหลือเราอย่างปิดทองหลังพระ
เราจึงเห็นร่วมกันว่า การฟื้นศูนย์ประสานงานศาสนาเพื่อสังคม เป็นวิธีที่ดีที่สุดอย่างน้อยที่สุด นี้ก็เป็นโอกาสสำคัญ
ที่จะแสดงว่า ศาสนาจะมีพลังในการคัดง้างกับความเลวร้ายในสังคมได้หรือไม่ และศาสนาจะมีคุณค่าเพียงใด
ในสถานการณ์อันวิกฤติเช่นนั้น จะว่าไปแล้ว สภาพการณ์ตอนนั้น นอกเหนือจากกลุ่มศาสนาแล้ว
ก็ยากที่จะมีกลุ่มใดสามารถลุกขึ้นมาทำการนอกแนวทางของรัฐได้ โดยไม่ถูกปราบปรามอย่างรุนแรงเสียก่อน
ดังนั้นการที่เราเข้ามาฟื้นศูนย์ประสานงานศาสนาเพื่อสังคมขึ้นใหม่ จึงเป็นความจำเป็นทั้งในทางศาสนธรรม
และในทางการเมือง อย่างไรก็ตามความที่คำว่า “ศูนย์” เวลานั้นเป็นคำแสลงหูผู้มีอำนาจ ด้วยชวนให้นึกไปถึง
“ศูนย์นิสิต” เราจึงเปลี่ยนมาเป็นกลุ่มประสานงานศาสนาเพื่อสังคม โดยใช้ชื่อย่อว่า กศส.นับแต่นั้น ทั้งนี้โดย
มีท่านที่เอ่ยนามมานั้น ร่วมเป็นกรรมการอย่างเปิดเผยร่วมกับอีกสองสามท่านที่มาเป็นไล่เลี่ยกัน
ส่วนพวกเราในกลุ่มอหิงสานั้นอาสาเป็นคนทำงานให้

งานระยะต้นนั้นเน้นที่ผู้ต้องขังกรณี ๖ ตุลาคมเป็นสำคัญ แม้เพียงเท่านั้น ก็เป็นเรื่องใหญ่แล้ว เพราะมีถึง
๒๐๐-๓๐๐ คนที่ถูกห้ามประกัน หรือมิฉะนั้นก็ไม่มีหลักทรัพย์พอที่จะประกันตัวได้ ซึ่งผิดกับนักศึกษา
หากมหาวิทยาลัยรับรอง ก็สามารถออกไปเรียนต่อได้ การเยี่ยมเยียนผู้ต้องขังครั้งใหญ่(พร้อมกับการเยี่ยม
ทหารตำรวจที่ได้รับบาดเจ็บจากการสู้รบ)ในโอกาสวันขึ้นปีใหม่ ปี ๒๕๒๐ นั้น นับเป็นการเปิดตัวครั้งแรกของ
กลุ่มต่อสาธารณชน รวมถึงผู้ต้องขังและทางการหลังจากนั้น งานก็ขยายกว้างออกไป นอกจากการเยี่ยมเยียน
และช่วยเหลือด้านวัสดุปัจจัยแก่ผู้ต้องขังแล้ว ยังมีการช่วยเหลือทางด้านกฎหมาย ระดมเงินเพื่อประกันตัวผู้ต้องขัง
ซึ่งเป็นหลักทางด้านความเป็นอยู่ของครอบครัวขณะเดียวกัน กลุ่มเป้าหมายก็ขยายไปยังผู้ต้องขัง “ภัยสังคม”
และนักโทษการเมืองอื่น ๆ ในคดีคอมมิวนิสต์ และความมั่นคงของรัฐ มีการรายงานสภาพความเป็นไปของ
นักโทษการเมือง หรือนักโทษทางความคิด ตลอดจนสภาพสิทธิมนุษยชนด้านต่าง ๆ ให้แก่ผู้สนใจ
ทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศ

ในการทำกิจกรรมเหล่านี้ ข่ายงานเป็นสิ่งจำเป็นมาก ไม่เฉพาะแต่ข่ายงานในประเทศเท่านั้น
แม้ข่ายงานนอกประเทศก็สำคัญไม่แพ้กัน เพราะการทำงานทางด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนนั้น
มิใช่เรื่องจำกัดวงเฉพาะภายในประเทศ หากจะต้องร่วมมือกับนานาประเทศ เพื่อผลักดันให้มีการปรับปรุง
สภาพด้านนี้ให้ดีขึ้น กศส.เป็นองค์กรใหม่ การสร้างสัมพันธ์กับองค์กรนอกประเทศ เพื่อให้ผลงานของ
กลุ่มเป็นที่เชื่อถือยอมรับในระดับสากลนั้นมิใช่เรื่องง่าย แต่ก็มิถึงกับยากทีเดียวนัก เพราะอย่างน้อย
กรรมการของกลุ่มหลายคนที่มีความสัมพันธ์กับองค์กรต่างประเทศอยู่แล้ว และ
คนที่มีบทบาทสำคัญอย่างยิ่งในด้านนี้ (ตลอดจนด้านอื่น ๆ อีกมาก)
ย่อมได้แก่นิโคลัส เบนเนตต์ ซึ่งเป็นกำลังสำคัญของ กลุ่มมาแต่หลังเหตุการณ์
๖ ตุลาคมมาจนถึงเดือนเมษายน ๒๕๒๒ ก่อนย้ายไปประเทศเนปาล ที่กศส.มาสัมพันธ์
กับอาจารย์ป๋วยได้เพราะนิโคลัสเป็นสะพานสำคัญนั่นเอง
ไล่เลี่ยกับที่กศส.ฟื้นฟูขึ้นใหม่ในราวกลางเดือนธันวาคมนั้น นิโคลัสและมองตาเน็ตภรรยาได้เดินทาง
ไปพักร้อนยังยุโรป ได้พบปะกับองค์กรต่าง ๆ ในทวีปนั้นเป็นจำนวนมาก และเมื่อได้ไปเยี่ยมเยียน
อังกฤษบ้านเกิด นิโคลัสก็ได้พบกับอาจารย์ป๋วย ซึ่งเวลานั้นก็เริ่มตั้งมูลนิธิมิตรไทย
ร่วมกับอาจารย์สุลักษณ์ เพื่อช่วยเหลือคนไทยที่ได้รับความยากลำบากจากรัฐบาลเผด็จการ
ไม่ว่าจะพลัดพรากจากบ้านเกิดเมืองนอน ถูกจับกุมคุมขัง หรือถูกปิดกั้นโอกาสแสดงความคิดเห็นอย่างเสรี

การเดินทางแรมเดือนครั้งนั้น ทำให้ความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างองค์กรศาสนาและมนุษยธรรมในต่างประเทศ
กับองค์กรศาสนาและสิทธิมนุษยชนในไทยเกิดขึ้นเป็นครั้งแรกหลังเหตุการณ์ ๖ ตุลาคม ว่าเฉพาะองค์กร
ของคนไทยในต่างประเทศ มูลนิธิมิตรไทยเป็นองค์กรแรกที่กศส.สัมพันธ์ด้วย อาจกล่าวได้ว่า
ในระยะแรกของกศส.นั้น อาจารย์ป๋วยและกรรมการมูลนิธิมิตรไทยเป็นกำลังสนับสนุนที่สำคัญมาก
(โดยเฉพาะอาจารย์สุลักษณ์นั้น มีบทบาทมิใช่น้อยทีเดียวในการวิ่งเต้นให้กศส.ในต่างแดน)
ทุนสนับสนุนของมูลนิธิมิตรไทยทำให้กศส.ดำเนินงานไปได้ในช่วงที่ยังขัดสนทางด้านทุนทรัพย์อยู่
แต่ที่สำคัญไม่น้อยไปกว่านั้นก็คือ ข้อเสนอแนะ กำลังใจ และการเป็นสะพานให้เรารู้จักมิตรสหายอีก
มากหลายในเวลาต่อมา วันหนึ่งในฤดูร้อนของปี ๒๕๒๐ มีจดหมายฉบับหนึ่งถึงนิโคลัส อักษรอังกฤษ
เขียนด้วยลายมืองดงามเป็นระเบียบ ลงชื่อ Richard Evans หากนิโคลัสไม่บอก ข้าพเจ้าก็คงนึกไม่ออกว่า
เจ้าของจดหมายนั้นคืออาจารย์ป๋วยนั่นเอง ในจดหมายฉบับนั้นอาจารย์ป๋วยได้พูดถึงความช่วยเหลือของ
มิตรไทยที่พร้อมจะให้แก่กศส.ตลอดจนให้ข้อแนะนำเกี่ยวกับงานของกศส.อีกหลายประการทั้งด้าน
ในประเทศและต่างประเทศ เป็นที่ตกลงกันว่า อาจารย์ป๋วยจะไม่เขียนจดหมายโดยใช้ชื่อจริงมายังนิโคลัส
เพราะท่านรู้ดีว่า ชื่อของท่านนั้นเป็นภัยแก่ผู้รับอย่างยิ่ง โดยเฉพาะผู้ที่มีกิจกรรมอย่างกศส.ข้าพเจ้า
เมื่ออ่านจดหมายฉบับนั้น มีความรู้สึกสองประการ ด้านหนึ่งก็ดีใจที่ท่านใส่ใจกับงานของเรา
จดหมายของท่านถือเป็นการให้กำลังใจเราโดยไม่จำเป็นที่ท่านจะต้องอวยชัยให้พรด้วยถ้อยคำหรู ๆ
แต่อีกด้านหนึ่งก็รู้สึกสลดใจในเคราะห์กรรมของท่านและของบ้านเมืองบุคคลอย่างท่านได้ทำคุณให้แก่
บ้านเมืองนานัปการ อันควรที่ประเทศชาติจะต้องเชิดชูเกียรติคุณของท่านให้ปรากฏ ชื่อเสียงเรียงนามของท่าน
ควรอย่างยิ่งที่ทางการจะยกย่องให้เป็นศรีของสมัยและเป็นแบบอย่างของอนุชนคนรุ่นหลัง แต่แล้วมาบัดนี้
ชื่อของท่าน รัฐบาลกลับเห็นเป็นสิ่งเลวร้าย ที่จะต้องหาทางกำจัด ผู้คนไม่อาจเอ่ยนามของท่านด้วยความชื่นชม
อย่างเปิดเผย แม้ตัวท่านเองก็ไม่อาจใช้ชื่อของท่านในการติดต่อกับมิตรสหายในประเทศ สำหรับข้าพเจ้าแล้ว
“Richard Evans” ชวนให้นึกไปถึง “นายเข้ม เย็นยิ่ง” มิใช่เพราะผู้นำของเราเห็นกงจักรเป็นดอกบัว
ยกประเทศให้แก่ญี่ปุ่นอย่างไม่คำนึงถึงเกียรติภูมิของชาติดอกหรือ คนไทยจำนวนมากรวมทั้งอาจารย์ป๋วย
จึงต้องเสี่ยงชีวิตมากู้ชาติ ชนิดที่ต้องอำพรางนามจริงของตนเอาไว้ หากผู้นำเราไม่สิ้นประวัติศาสตร์ย่อมไม่รู้จัก
วีรชนนาม “เข้ม” เสรีไทยรุ่นแรกที่เข้ามาปฏิบัติการในเมืองไทยอย่างอาจหาญ เช่นเดียวกัน
หากจอมพลถนอม กิตติขจรไม่เถลิงอำนาจถึงขั้นรัฐประหารตัวเองในปี ๒๕๑๔ แล้ว ไหนเลยจะมีจดหมาย
“นายเข้ม เย็นยิ่ง” อันเลื่องลือ มาบัดนี้บ้านเมืองมีผู้นำเป็นพาลชน คนดีที่ชาติต้องการอย่างอาจารย์ป๋วย
จึงต้องพรางตัวอีกครั้งหนึ่งเพื่อทำ ประโยชน์ให้แก่บ้านเมือง “Richard Evans” และ “นายเข้ม เย็นยิ่ง”
จึงมิใช่อะไรอื่น หากเป็นสัญลักษณ์บ่งชี้ถึงความตกต่ำของผู้นำและบ้านเมืองไทยโดยแท้ สิ่งที่ต่างกัน
มีเพียงประการเดียวคือภายหลังการทวนกระแสอำนาจของผู้นำในสมัย สงครามโลกครั้งที่สองและ
ช่วงรัฐประหารตัวเองของจอมพลถนอมแล้ว “เข้ม” และ “นายเข้ม เย็นยิ่ง” สามารถกลับคืนมาตุภูมิ
ได้อย่างมีเกียรติ แต่สำหรับ “Richard Evans” นั้น ในบั้นปลายชีวิตของเขา เป็นไปได้หรือที่เขาจะกลับสู่
บ้านเกิดเมืองนอนได้อีก ใครบ้างที่จะตอบคำถามข้อนี้ได้ ในระหว่างที่มีการติดต่อทางจดหมายอยู่นั้น
กรรมการกศส.บางคน อาทิอาจารย์โคทม ก็มีโอกาสพบปะกับอาจารย์ป๋วย ๒-๓ ครั้งที่ยุโรป
ข่าวสารความเป็นไปทางด้านสิทธิมนุษยชนในไทย และการดำเนินงานของ กศส.จึงเป็นที่รับรู้ของท่าน
โดยตลอด นอกเหนือจากที่ได้รับจากรายงานของกศส.ทุกสองเดือนแล้ว การติดต่อข่าวสารครั้งสำคัญ
เกิดขึ้นอีกครั้งหนึ่ง เมื่อท่านได้รับเชิญเป็นพยานในการสืบสวนเรื่องสิทธิมนุษยชนในประเทศไทย
ซึ่งจัดขึ้นโดยอนุกรรมการคณะหนึ่งของคณะกรรมการวิเทศน์สัมพันธ์ รัฐสภาสหรัฐ ฯ
ข้อมูลต่าง ๆ ที่กศส.จัดส่งไปให้นั้น ท่านได้กล่าวถึงในการสืบพยานครั้งนี้ หลายตอนด้วยกันไม่ว่า
จะเป็นข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับจำนวนนักโทษการเมืองในไทย การฆ่าภิกษุสามรูปในภาคใต้ การสังหารหมู่
ชาวบ้านภาคใต้ที่ไปเกี่ยวข้าวในทุ่งนา และคดีครูอุดม ผกากรองและคณะ อันเป็นข้อมูลที่เราส่งไปให้ท่าน
อย่างจวนเจียน ไม่กี่วันก่อนการสืบพยานในวันที่ ๓๐ มิถุนายน ๒๕๒๐ (ดูคำให้การของดร.ป๋วย อึ๊งภากรณ์
กรณีเหตุการณ์ ๖ ตุลาคม มูลนิธิโกมล คีมทอง)

การสืบพยานครั้งนั้นเป็นเรื่องสำคัญมากสำหรับรัฐบาลไทยและผู้สนใจปัญหาสิทธิมนุษยชนในไทย
ทั้งที่เป็นชาวไทยและชาวต่างชาติ ตอนที่มีข่าวว่ารัฐสภาสหรัฐ ฯ มีมติเชิญอาจารย์ป๋วยเป็นพยานปากหนึ่งนั้น
ผู้ที่อยู่ข้างรัฐบาลเวลานั้น ดูเป็นเดือดเป็นร้อนมาก มรว.คึกฤทธิ์ ปราโมช ถึงกับเขียนในคอลัมน์ “ข้าวไกลนา”
ในสยามรัฐ วันที่ ๒๔ กุมภาพันธ์ แสดงความไม่พอใจรัฐบาลสหรัฐอย่างรุนแรง และให้คะแนนลบอาจารย์ป๋วย
โดยเขียนให้ผู้อ่านเข้าใจไปว่า อาจารย์ป๋วยมีทัศนคติที่เป็นปฏิปักษ์กับสถานการณ์ในเมืองไทยและรัฐบาล
ไทยอย่างไม่น่ารับฟัง เช่นเดียวกับที่ขุนช้างมีต่อขุนแผน และขงเบ้งมีต่อโจโฉ

ในช่วงที่มีการสืบพยานนั้น ประจวบเหมาะกับที่ข้าพเจ้า ซึ่งเวลานั้นยังเป็นฆราวาสได้รับเชิญไปร่วมประชุม
ระดับนานาชาติเรื่องการอบรมสันติวิธีที่ประเทศเม็กซิโกโดยจำต้องต่อเครื่องบินที่สหรัฐฯ ข้าพเจ้าและเพื่อน
อีกผู้หนึ่งคือวีระ สมบูรณ์ ซึ่งได้รับเชิญด้วยเช่นกัน ถึงลอสแอนเจลีสหลังการสืบพยาน ๑ วัน ไล่เลี่ยกันนั้น
นิโคลัส และอาจารย์สุลักษณ์ก็ดันทางมาสมทบ เพื่อไปประชุมด้วยกัน ในช่วงนั้น เราได้โทรศัพท์ทางไกล
สอบถามกับสจ๊วต มีแช่ม ซึ่งได้รับเชิญไปเป็นพยานด้วยเช่นกัน ในฐานะชาวอเมริกันที่ทำงานในองค์กรเอกชน
ที่สัมพันธ์กับเมืองไทย (สจ๊วต มีแช่มคนนี้แหละที่ดาวสยามกล่าวหาว่าเป็นเคจีบีและตีพิมพ์ภาพของเขา
ที่ถ่ายร่วมกับอาจารย์ป๋วยและอาจารย์สุลักษณ์ในการประชุมเรื่องเขื่อนผามอง อันเป็นที่มาของภาพยนตร์
เรื่อง “ทองปาน”) จากปากคำของสจ๊วต สส.อเมริกันดูจะพอใจในคำให้การของอาจารย์ป๋วยมาก
ทั้งยังประทับใจท่านเป็นส่วนตัวอีกด้วย เราฟังแล้วก็ยินดี เพราะทัศนะของสส.อเมริกันเช่นนี้
อาจมีผลให้รัฐบาลไทยปรับปรุงสภาพสิทธิมนุษยชนในประเทศไทยให้กระเตื้องขึ้นบ้างไม่มากก็น้อย
หลังจากประชุมที่เม็กซิโก ปลายเดือนกรกฎาคม อาจารย์สุลักษณ์, วีระและข้าพเจ้าก็เดินทางเข้าสหรัฐ ฯ
ที่รัฐเท็กซัส ส่วนนิโคลัสและอาจารย์โคทมกลับเมืองไทยไปก่อน ที่เมืองออสติน เราได้รับเชิญไปพูดเกี่ยวกับ
เหตุการณ์ ๖ ตุลาคม และสภาพเมืองไทยในปัจจุบัน จะเรียกว่านี่เป็นรายการชิมลางก่อนอาจารย์ป๋วยก็ได้
เพราะท่านมีกำหนดเยือนสหรัฐฯ และได้รับเชิญมาพูดที่เมืองนั้นในราวปลายเดือนกันยายน ทันทีที่มีข่าวว่า
เราจะไปพูดข่าวลือก็สะพัดไปในหมู่คนไทยที่เมืองนั้น โจมตีกล่าวหาเราต่าง ๆ นานา ทั้งยังขู่คนไม่ให้ไปฟังด้วย
หลายคนขวัญหนีดีฝ่อไปตาม ๆ กัน ขนาดเรายังโดนถึงเพียงนี้ นับประสาอะไรกับอาจารย์ป๋วย ซึ่งข่าวลือ
โจมตีท่านแพร่ระบาดก่อนที่ท่านจะมาเป็นเดือน ๆ ทีเดียว ราวปลายเดือนกันยายน วีระและข้าพเจ้าขึ้นมาพัก
ที่เมืองอิทากะ กับอาจารย์สุลักษณ์และฉิม ลูกชาย ความจริงวีระและข้าพเจ้าอยางพบอาจารย์ป๋วยมาก
แต่เชื่อว่าแม้ไม่ได้พบท่านที่สหรัฐฯ ก็อาจได้พบที่อังกฤษ ซึ่งเป็นทางผ่านก่อนที่เราจะกลับเมืองไทยอยู่แล้ว
จึงไม่คิดจะวกกลับไปเท็กซัสอีก ในวันที่ท่านกำหนดมาถึงสหรัฐ ฯ นั้น อาจารย์สุลักษณ์คอยโทรศัพท์จากท่าน
แต่ก็ไม่มีข่าวอะไรเลย จนค่ำแล้วจึงได้รับโทรศัพท์ทางไกลจากอังกฤษ แต่ผู้พูดหาใช่อาจารย์ป๋วยไม่
ที่ร้ายกว่านั้นก็คือ ได้รับแจ้งว่าท่านมาไม่ได้เสียแล้ว เพราะล้มป่วยอย่างหนัก ด้วยเส้นเลือดในสมองแตก
อาการเข้าขั้นวิกฤต ต้องเข้าโรงพยาบาลอย่างรีบด่วน เราตกใจมาก คืนนั้นร่วมกันสวดภาวนาให้ท่านแคล้วคลาด
จากภยันตราย เราไม่ได้ข่าวจากท่านอีกเลย เมื่อเดินทางเข้าประเทศอังกฤษราวต้นเดือนตุลาคมได้ทราบว่า
อาการท่านดีขึ้น แต่ก็ยังประมาทไม่ได้ สถานที่ท่านรักษาตัวก็ปิดเป็นความลับ รู้กันเฉพาะวงใน ทั้งนี้เพื่อให้ท่าน
พักผ่อนอย่างเต็มที่ หลังจากนั้น เราจึงได้ทราบว่า ร่างกายของท่านซีกขวาไม่สามารถทำงานได้เหมือนเดิมแล้ว
ไม่ว่าจะพูด หรือเขียน ก็ติดขัดไปหมด นับแต่นั้นมา จดหมายจาก “Richard Evans” ก็ไม่มีอีกเลย รวมแล้ว
จดหมายที่ทานติดต่อถึงพวกเรามีประมาณ ๓ ฉบับเท่านั้น อย่างไรก็ตาม เมื่อท่านมีสุขภาพดีขึ้นแล้ว
เราก็ยังติดต่อถึงท่านอยู่เนือง ๆ ทั้งในรูปจดหมายและรายงานข่าว ข้าพเจ้ามีโอกาสพบท่านที่ลอนดอนสองครั้ง
ในปี ๒๕๒๒ และ ๒๕๒๔ ท่านยังถามไถ่ถึงกรรมการ กศส.หลายคน ทั้งที่อยู่เมืองไทยและต่างประเทศ
ดูท่านจะพอใจที่ได้ฟังข่าวเกี่ยวกับเมืองไทยและงานที่เราทำอยู่

อาจารย์ป๋วยมิได้มีความสัมพันธ์กับกศส.ในทางที่เป็นคุณูปการเท่านั้น หากยังมีความสัมพันธ์เป็นส่วนตัว
กับคนในกศส.อีกหลายคน อันที่จริง ข้าพเจ้ามีเรื่องเล่าอีกมากเกี่ยวกับความประทับใจที่ข้าพเจ้ามีต่อท่าน
เป็นส่วนตัว แม้จะเป็นเพียงความรู้สึกฝ่ายเดียวก็ตาม หากจะไม่กล่าวไว้ในที่นี้ แต่จะกล่าวเพียงว่า
ชีวิตและงานของท่านเป็นพลังบันดาลใจให้แก่ข้าพเจ้าอย่างยิ่งก่อนที่จะมาทำ งานในกศส.เสียอีก
ยิ่งช่วงหลัง ๖ ตุลาคมด้วยแล้ว การที่ท่านอุทิศตัวอย่างอุตสาหะ ตรากตรำทำงานไม่หยุดหย่อน
เพื่อให้โลกรู้ความจริงเกี่ยวกับเมืองไทยและเหตุการณ์ ๖ ตุลาคม ทำให้พวกเราในกศส.โดยเฉพาะเป็น
ผู้ปฏิบัติงานมีกำลังใจอย่างยิ่งและมีความหวังว่า สิ่งที่เราทำไปนั้น อาจมีส่วนช่วยให้สถานการณ์อันเลวร้ายนั้น
ดีขึ้นไม่มากก็น้อย ยิ่งโลกรู้ความจริงมากเท่าไร เฝ้ามองเมืองไทยอย่างห่วงใยมากเท่าไร เราก็ยิ่งมีพลัง
ที่จะร่วมมือกันฟันฝ่าอุปสรรคมากเท่านั้น ในอีกแง่หนึ่งการที่โลกจับตามองเมืองไทย และให้ความยอมรับ
กลุ่มเล็ก ๆ อย่างเรานั้น ช่วยให้เราสามารถทำงานไปได้ โดยไม่ถูกปราบปรามหรือบดขยี้และที่นานาประเทศ
มีท่าทีเช่นนั้นได้ ใครเลยจะปฏิเสธว่าอาจารย์ป๋วยมิได้มีส่วนอย่างสำคัญ ท่านจึงมีคุณูปการต่อกศส.และพวกเรา
ทั้งทางตรงและทางอ้อม แต่นั่นก็ไม่สำคัญเท่าความจริงที่ว่า สิ่งที่ท่านทำในช่วงปีสุดท้ายก่อนล้มเจ็บนั้น มีคุณค่า
อย่างยิ่งสำหรับประเทศไทย ส่งผลสร้างสรรค์ต่อมหาชนทั้งประเทศ แต่ผลดังกล่าว ได้มาด้วยราคาแพงอย่างยิ่ง
เพราะท่านต้องแลกมาด้วยสวัสดิภาพแห่งสังขารของท่านเองจนเกือบจะเอาชีวิตไม่รอดเสียแล้ว แต่ใครเลยจะรู้ได้
บางทีการอุทิศตนของท่าน อย่าว่าแต่คนรุ่นหลังเลย แม้คนรุ่นนี้ ก็อาจจะไม่รู้เลยก็ได้ หรือถึงเคยรู้ก็อาจจะ
หลงลืมไปแล้ว ดังที่เขาได้ลืมคุณความดีที่ท่านทำไปแต่ครั้งเป็นเสรีไทย ผู้บริหารเศรษฐกิจของชาติ
นักศึกษา และที่สำคัญไม่น้อยไปกว่านั้นคือ ผู้เป็นเสียงแห่งมโนธรรมของสังคมไทยร่วมสมัย ซึ่งทุกวันนี้
เรามีน้อยเต็มที ๑๗ มีนาคม ๒๕๒๙

บทผนวกท้ายบทความแถลงการณ์
ศาสนิกชนทั้งฝ่ายพุทธ และฝ่ายคริสต์ทั้งคาทอลิกและโปรเตสแตนท์บรรพชิตและคฤหัสถ์
ซึ่งประชุมร่วมกัน ณ สำนักงานของสภาคริสตจักรในประเทศไทย เมื่อวันที่ ๑๗ มีนาคม ๒๕๑๙
โดยตั้งเป็นศูนย์ประสานงานศาสนาเพื่อสังคมขึ้น ขอออกแถลงการณ์ร่วมกันดังนี้

๑. โดยสภาพของบ้านเมืองในปัจจุบันกำลังอยู่ในสถานการณ์อันวิกฤต มีการแย่งคนอยู่สองฝ่าย
ทั้งฝ่ายซ้ายจัดและขวาจัด ที่ประชุมนี้มีมติว่า ศาสนจักรไม่ควรทำตนไปเข้ากับฝ่ายใด
ไม่ควรก่อให้เกิดการแตกแยกกันเป็นซ้ายเป็นขวา ในวงการศาสนา แต่ควรหาทางสมานไมตรี
ควรเห็นแก่คนส่วนใหญ่ ซึ่งไม่เป็นซ้ายไม่เป็นขวา แต่กำลังตกอยู่ในสงครามจิตวิทยาอันนี้
ซ้ายก็ไม่ใช่คำตอบ ขวาก็ไม่ใช่คำตอบ คำตอบคือการลดความอยุติธรรม ลดช่องว่างระหว่าง
คนรวยกับคนจน ระหว่างคนมีอำนาจและคนไร้อำนาจ ซึ่งอาจลดลงได้ด้วยวิถีทางอันเป็นอหิงสธรรม

๒. ที่ประชุมนี้ขอเสนอให้ผู้นำทางศาสนาประณามการฆ่าฟัน ประหัตประหารกันในทุกกรณี
กับเรียกร้องให้รัฐบาลหาทางจับกุมผู้ร้ายให้ได้

๓.ใช่แต่การฆ่าฟันกันทีละคนและการให้ร้ายป้ายสีกันทีละหมู่คณะเท่านั้นที่คนกำลังอกสั่นขวัญแขวน
กันอยู่ในบัดนี้ หากกำลังมีข่าวลืออย่างหนาหูว่าจะเกิดปฏิวัติรัฐประหารขั้นนองเลือดขึ้นในวันในพรุ่งเสียซ้ำ
โดยที่สภาสตรีแห่งชาติออกแถลงการณ์ต่อต้านการกระทำอันเลวร้ายนี้ โดยขอให้ใช้วิถีทางแห่ง
ระบบรัฐสภาเพื่อหาทางออกให้อนาคตของบ้านเมือง คณะสยามสังคมก็ร่วมกับสหภาพเพื่อสิทธิเสรีภาพ
ของประชาชนในอันที่จะร่วมกัน ประชุมวิเคราะห์ปัญหารัฐประหารในประเทศไทย ในวันที่ ๑๘ นี้
โดยเตรียมที่จะมีแถลงการณ์ร่วมออกด้วย ที่ประชุมขอสนับสนุนความริเริ่มดังกล่าว
และเรียกร้องให้สภาคริสตจักรในประเทศไทย สภาพระสังฆราชคาทอลิกแห่งประเทศไทย
มหาวิทยาลัยสงฆ์ตลอดจนยุวสงฆ์และมหาเถรสมาคม ชมรมพุทธ และชมรมศาสนาศึกษาต่าง ๆ
ว่าควรจะรวมพลังออกแถลงการณ์ร่วมกันเพื่อเตือนให้เห็นถึงภัยอันจักเกิดจาก การรัฐประหาร

๔. ที่ประชุมนี้ขอแผ่ไมตรีจิตมิตรภาพไปยังทหาร ในฐานเพื่อนมนุษย์ และใคร่ชี้แนะให้ทหารหาญเข้าใจ
ว่าเขาควรเป็นเพื่อนกับประชาราษฎร เขาไม่ควรคิดฆ่าผู้ฟันคน เพียงเพราะเชื่อกันว่าชาวบ้านชาวกรุง
เป็นผู้ก่อการร้าย เขาไม่ควรกดขี่ข่มเหงราษฎร แม้นักศึกษาอาจจะใช้คำรุนแรงไปบ้างก็ตาม
แต่ถ้าทหารใช้อาการอันรุนแรงกับราษฎร จะเป็นที่เกลียดชังของมหาชน
ยิ่งฆ่าผู้ฟันคนมากลงเท่าไร จะยิ่งเพิ่มความเกลียดความชังมากขึ้นเท่านั้น
ถึงทหารจะยึดอำนาจได้หรือ กุมสถานการณ์ไว้ได้ก็ชั่วในระยะสั้น

๕. ในฝ่ายผู้ที่ตั้งตนเป็นฝ่ายตรงกันข้ามกับทหาร ที่หาว่าทหารฆ่าพวกเขา ที่ประชุมใคร่เตือนเขา
ให้เขารักสันติ เวรย่อมระงับด้วยการไม่จองเวร การฆ่าระงับลงไม่ได้ด้วยการฆ่า ผู้ที่ฆ่าอาจเป็นทหารก็ได้
อาจเป็นพลเรือนก็ได้ และในหลายกรณี เขาฆ่าเพราะเขากลัว เขาฆ่าเพราะเขาไม่รู้ เขาฆ่าเพราะเขา
เป็นเครื่องมือของนักการเมืองและระบบอันฉ้อฉล การฆ่ากลับไปไม่เป็นการแก้ปัญหา ต้องหาทางแก้
ที่ระบบซึ่งคนไทยทุกคนน่าจะร่วมกันคิดร่วมกันทำโดยสันติวิธี โดยอย่าปล่อยให้มีอิทธิพลจากภายนอก
เข้ามาก้าวก่าย ศูนย์ประสานงานศาสนาเพื่อสังคม ๒๕๑๙

รายการ “ พันแสงรุ้ง” ได้รับรางวัลสารคดีโทรทัศน์จากสื่อมวลชนคาทอลิก




เมื่อวันที่ 21 ตุลาคม 2552 นายโคทม อารียา ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์ศึกษาและพัฒนาสันติวิธี ม.มหิดล
ร่วมเป็นเกียรติในงานรับมอบรางวัล ในโอกาสที่รายการ “พันแสงรุ้ง” ได้รับรางวัลรายการสารคดีโทรทัศน์
จากสื่อมวลชนคาทอลิก ในงาน “SIGNIS World Congress 2009” ณ ศูนย์ประชุมนานาชาติ ดิเอ็มเพรส
จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ซึ่งเป็นรางวัลที่ได้รับจากการสำรวจ โดยใช้แบบสอบถามจำนวนกว่า 10,000 ฉบับ
ไปยังโรงเรียนมัธยมทั่วประเทศ ในโอกาสนี้ นายเทพชัย หย่อง ผู้อำนวยการองค์การกระจายเสียงและ
แพร่ภาพสาธารณะ เป็นผู้แทนรับมอบรางวัล โดยรายการพันแสงรุ้ง เป็นรายการสารคดีที่มุ่งนำเสนอ
ความงามของความแตกต่างหลากหลายของกลุ่มชาติพันธุ์ต่าง ๆ ที่อาศัยอยู่ร่วมกันในประเทศไทย
ซึ่งร่วมผลิตโดย ศูนย์ศึกษาและพัฒนาสันติวิธี มหาวิทยาลัยมหิดล, บริษัทป่าใหญ่ครีเอชั่น

ยิ่งชุมนุมยิ่งเพิ่ม

เจ้าของผู้จัดการโรงงาน บริษัท ห้างร้านหลายแห่งสนับสนุนให้ พนักงานไปร่วมชุมนุม
เรียกร้อง ประชาธิไตย แม้จะต้อง หยุดงานก็ยอม ไปกันทั้งนายจ้าง และลูกจ้าง เพราะเห็น
เป็นเรื่องสำคัญมาก ที่จะต้องช่วยกัน ทั้งประเทศ ทุกกลุ่มสาขา อาชีพ หากบ้านเมือง ปกครอง
แบบเผด็จการต่อไป ไม่ช่วยกันหยุดยั้ง ไม่ช่วยกัน เรียกร้อง ประชาธิปไตย ประชาชน จะไม่มี
สิทธิ เสรีภาพ การทำมาหากิน ทุกอาชีพ จะฝืดเคืองลง เศรษฐกิจ จะพังพินาศในที่สุด
ดังนั้น การชุมนุมซ้ำแล้วซ้ำอีก แทนที่คนจะน้อยลงเพราะเหนื่อย เพราะเบื่อ อดหลับอดนอน
นั่งตากแดด ก็ทน นั่งฟังปราศรัยกัน จนสว่าง จึงกลับบ้านอาบน้ำอาบท่า กินข้าวแล้วมาใหม่
ยิ่งชุมนุม คนยิ่งเพิ่มขึ้นทุกทีๆ แรกๆรัฐบาลก็เฉยๆ ต่อมาเริ่มไหวหวั่น เฉยอยู่ไม่ได้
ผู้ที่ไปร่วมชุมนุมมากมายนั้น ไม่ได้ไปเพราะคนชื่อ จำลอง คนชื่อ ฉลาด หรือคนชื่อครู ประทีป
แต่ไปชุมนุมเพราะ จำเป็นต้องเข้าช่วยกอบกู้สังคมบ้านเมือง ต่างหาก ถ้าไม่ช่วยกัน
สักวันหนึ่ง ภัยก็ต้องไปถึงเขาจนได้ ดังเรื่องจริงที่เกิดขึ้น ในเยอรมัน

สายเสียแล้ว
ในประเทศเยอรมัน พวกนาซีส่งคนมาจับพวกคอมมิวนิสต์
แต่ข้าพเจ้ามิได้ออกเสียงคัดค้าน
เพราะข้าพเจ้าไม่ใช่คอมมิวนิสต์
หลังจากนั้น พวกนาซีก็ส่งคนมาจับชาวยิว
แต่ข้าพเจ้าก็มิได้ออกเสียงคัดค้าน
เพราะข้าพเจ้ามิใช่ชาวยิว
ต่อมา พวกนาซีก็ส่งคนมาจับคนของสหภาพแรงงาน
แต่ข้าพเจ้าก็มิได้ออกเสียงคัดค้าน
เพราะข้าพเจ้ามิใช่คนของสหภาพแรงงาน
ต่อจากนั้น พวกนาซีก็ส่งคนมาจับพวกคาทอลิก

วันที่ ๗ พฤษภาคม ผู้คนไปร่วมชุมนุมหน้ารัฐสภามากยิ่งกว่าวันที่ ๖ พฤษภาคม เสียอีก
วันที่ ๖ พฤษภาคม สาเหตุที่มีคน ชุมนุมมาก อาจจะเป็น วันหยุดชดเชยรัฐวิสาหกิจ
แต่คนมากวันที่ ๗ พฤษภาคม อ้างอะไร ไม่ได้เลย วันนี้ตำรวจใช้กำลังปิดกั้นหมดทุกด้าน
ปิดยิ่งกว่าวันที่ ๖ พฤษภาคม ทางที่เคยผ่านได้ ก็ผ่านไม่ได้ คณะผู้จัดให้มี การชุมนุม
ต้องส่งคนออกไป แนะนำ ให้เล็ดลอดเข้าไป ตามเส้นทางลัดเลาะต่างๆ เช่น เข้าเขาดิน ทำเป็นว่า
จะไปดูสัตว์ เสร็จแล้ว ก็ปีนกำแพง ข้ามไปหน้ารัฐสภา โดยเราจัดโต๊ะเก้าอี้ซ้อนๆ
เตรียมไว้ เพื่ออำนวยความสะดวก ในการปีนกำแพง น่าคิด จะทำดีเพื่อบ้านเพื่อเมือง
ช่างเต็มไปด้วยอุปสรรค ขวากหนามเสียนี่กระไร ต้องเหน็ดเหนื่อยลำบาก ยากเข็ญ
แต่พวกเรา ก็ไม่ท้อ พยายามฝ่าฟันไปจนได้ เราชุมนุมกันด้วยความสมัครใจ ใครก็ห้ามไม่ได้
ผู้ชุมนุมหลายต่อหลายคน แวะเวียนไปเยี่ยมผมด้วยความห่วงใย ทั้งเด็ก และผู้ใหญ่ พูดคุยบ้าง
เขียนจดหมาย ให้กำลังใจบ้าง เด็กส่วนใหญ่ เรียกผมว่า "ลุง" บางคนเรียก "พ่อ" เขียนจดหมายน่ารัก
เช่น กราบ คุณลุงจำลอง ที่เคารพ กรุณาทานข้าว และอาหาร และมีชีวิตอยู่ เพื่อเป็นความหวัง ของหนู
และคนไทย ที่รักคุณลุง จำลองค่ะ ขอพระเจ้าสถิตย์อยู่กับ คุณลุงค่ะ ด.ญ.พิญญ์ ตนานนท์ ๑๓

และจะไม่ถอย หนูจะอยู่ กับคุณพ่อค่ะ ประกายแก้ว เวลาประมาณ ๑๐.๐๐ น. รัฐสภาเริ่มประชุม
อภิปรายการแถลงนโยบายของรัฐบาล เป็นวันที่สอง หลังจากประชุมไปได้ ประมาณ ๑ ชั่วโมง
นายอุกฤษ มงคลนาวิน ประธานรัฐสภา ก็รวบรัดให้พลเอกสุจินดา ลุกขึ้นพูดสรุป แทนที่จะสรุป
การแถลงนโยบาย กลับไปพูดแก้ตัว เรื่องการรับตำแหน่งนายกฯ และพูด กล่าวหาผู้อื่น
ในเรื่องสภาเปรซิเดียม และศาสนาใหม่ ทำให้ถูกโห่ฮา จาก ส.ส. จึงเป็นสาเหตุ ให้ปิดประชุม

ที่เป็นนายกรัฐมนตรี จะควบคุม ดูแล การทุจริต คอร์รัปชั่น ได้ดีที่สุด

ตามหลักประชาธิปไตย ไว้อย่างน่าฟัง ถึงเหตุผล ดังกล่าวที่ พลเอกสุจินดา นำมาอ้าง
ในการรับตำแหน่ง นายกรัฐมนตรี ซึ่งหนังสือพิมพ์ สยามรัฐ ได้นำมาพิมพ์ เมื่อวันที่ ๑๕
และ ๑๖ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๓๕ ตอนหนึ่ง สรุปว่า เหตุผลที่ พลเอกสุจินดา นำมาอ้าง
เพื่อรับตำแหน่งนายกฯ นั้น ฟังไม่ขึ้น :-

"๑. รัฐธรรมนูญไม่ได้กำหนดว่า นายกรัฐมนตรีจะต้องเป็น สมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎร
ตนจึงมีสิทธิเป็นนายกฯได้ ข้อนี้ ในคำสัญญาที่ได้ประกาศต่อสาธารณชน เมื่อวันที่
๑๘ พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๓๔ ว่า ตนจะไม่รับตำแหน่งนี้ ขอให้ประชาชน ยอมรับร่าง
รัฐธรรมนูญไปก่อน จึงเป็นการปฏิเสธไม่รับสิทธิตามรัฐธรรมนูญ อยู่แล้ว
เมื่อผู้ ทรงสิทธิ์ ปฏิเสธสิทธิ์ไปแล้ว ย่อมไม่สามารถ ยกมาอ้างได้อีก มิฉะนั้น
จะกลายเป็นฉ้อโกง หรือฉ้อฉลไป

๒. การรับตำแหน่งครั้งนี้ เพื่อป้องกันมิให้บุคคลคนหนึ่ง ขึ้นสู่อำนาจเพราะผู้นั้น ใฝ่ฝันขึ้นสู่อำนาจ
ระบอบประชาธิปไตย แบบสภา เปรซิเดียม ความจริง คนอื่นที่เป็นส.ส. ขึ้นมาเป็นนายกฯ
ก็กันบุคคลนั้นได้เช่นกัน พิจารณาแง่หลักกฎหมาย รัฐธรรมนูญแล้ว บุคคล ย่อมมีสิทธิ
แสดงความคิดเห็นใดๆ ทางการเมืองได้ แม้จะมีความเห็น ที่ต่างกันก็ตาม
ส่วนเรื่องสภาเปรซิเดียมนั้น ต่ำทราม และผิดกฎหมายอย่างใด ไม่บอกไว้
ชื่อสภาเปรซิเดียม คือสภาสูงสุด ของรัสเซีย เช่นเดียวกับ
สภาคองเกรส ปาเลียเมนต์ หรือไดเอต หรือรัฐสภา
หรือสภานิติบัญญัติ เพียงแต่เรียก คนละภาษา เท่านั้น
สำหรับบุคคลผู้นั้น ก็เคยมีตำแหน่งสูงสุดทางทหาร เคยเป็นรองนายกฯ ก็ลาออก
มาตั้งพรรคการเมือง ตามวิถีทาง ประชาธิปไตย ความจริง น่าจะต่อต้านบุคคลที่ยึดอำนาจ
ล้มล้างรัฐบาล และรัฐธรรมนูญ แล้วตั้ง คณะบุคคล ที่มีอำนาจสูงสุด มาปกครองประเทศ มากกว่า

Republic

A republic is a form of government in which the head of state is not a monarch^[1]

Structure

With no monarch, most modern republics use the title president for the head of state.
Originally used to refer to the presiding officer of a committee or
governing body in Great Britain the usage was also applied to political leaders,
including the leaders of some of the Thirteen Colonies (originally Virginia in 1608);
in full, the "President of the Council."^[40] The first republic to adopt the title was
the United States of America. Keeping its usage as the head of a committee
the President of the Continental Congress was the leader of the original congress.
When the new constitution was written the title of President of the United States
was conferred on the head of the new executive branch.

Today almost all republics use the title president for the head of state.

If the head of state of a republic is also the head of government, this is called
a presidential system. There are a number of forms of presidential government.
A full-presidential system has a president with substantial authority and
a central political role. The United States was the first example of such a system,
and the basis for the model adopted elsewhere. In other states the legislature is
dominant and the president's role is almost purely ceremonial and apolitical,
such as in Germany and India. These states are parliamentary republics and
operate similarly to constitutional monarchies with parliamentary systems
where the power of the monarch is also greatly circumscribed. In parliamentary systems
the head of government, most often titled prime minister, exercises the most
real political power. Semi-presidential systems have a president as an active head of state,
but also have a head of government with important powers.
The rules for appointing the president and the leader of the government,
in some republics permit the appointment of a president and a prime minister
who have opposing political convictions: in France, when the members of the ruling cabinet
and the president come from opposing political factions, this situation is called
cohabitation. In some countries, like Switzerland and San Marino,
the head of state is not a single person

but a committee (council) of several persons holding that office.

ทางการเมือง ทำให้บุคคลผู้นั้น เสียประโยชน์ เสียความเชื่อถือ สร้างความลังเลสงสัย
แก่ประชาชน จึงเป็นการละเมิด รัฐธรรมนูญ มาตรา ๒๗ อย่างชัดแจ้ง แสดงว่า นายกฯ
ไม่ปฏิบัติตามรัฐธรรมนูญ โดยมารยาท สมควรลาออกไปในประเทศไทย แม้มีพุทธศาสนา
เป็นศาสนาประจำชาติ แต่ก็ไม่เคย กีดกันศาสนา และนิกายศาสนาใดเลย
(ผู้ที่ขึ้นเวที ปราศรัย เรียกร้องให้ พลเอกสุจินดา ลาออก มักจะตั้งข้อสงสัยเสมอ
"ที่ท่านนายกฯ ว่าท่านจะปกป้อง รักษา ศาสนาพุทธ นั้น ท่านสำรวจตัวเอง แล้วหรือยังว่า
