Violence in Thailand was condemned by MEPs on 20 May 2010.

In a change to the planned agenda, MEPs held a debate on the current conflict between the so-called "red shirts" and government supporters known as "yellow shirts".

Dutch liberal MEP Marietje Schaake said that a state of emergency should not be used to restrict personal freedoms.

A number of people have been killed in violence between protestors and the police in Bangkok, and a curfew has been established.

Irish socialist MEP Joe Higgins said the Thai government were describing the protestors as "terrorists", when in fact they were "impoverished farmers and the urban working class".

Colonel John Alexander, US Army Intelligence & Security Command, TDYed to the NSA, obtained his "Ph.D." from non-traditional New Age Walden University, was head of Las Vegas billionaire Robert Bigelow's NIDS organization investigating paranormal sites, member of the Aviary group involved in UFO cover-up matters as orchestrated by the global power group, The Cabal.

William M. Arkin (born 1956) is an American political commentator, activist, journalist, blogger, and former United States Army soldier.

Arkin served in U.S. Army intelligence from 1974 to 1978. He received a BS from the University of Maryland. He has served as an independent consultant and held positions at the Institute for Policy Studies, Center for Defense Information, Greenpeace, the Natural Resources Defense Council and Human Rights Watch. He has worked as a NBC News military analyst and written columns for the Los Angeles Times and Washington Post. As of 2007, he is currently Policy Fellow at the Kennedy School of Government in the Carr Centre for Human Rights Policy, Harvard University, United States.

In 1985, he wrote The Nuclear Battlefields: Global Links in the Arms Race, which revealed the location of secret nuclear bases throughout the world.

On October 15, 2003, William Arkin released video and audiotapes documenting General William Boykin's framing of the "War on Terrorism" in religious terms in speeches at churches. Arkin followed up with a Los Angeles Times op-ed piece that accused the general of being "an intolerant extremist" and a man "who believes in Christian 'jihad'." Arkin further wrote, "Boykin has made it clear that he takes his orders not from his Army superiors but from God — which is a worrisome line of command."[citation needed] Arkin refused to release the full transcripts of the talks that Boykin gave, despite numerous requests from various media sources.

In February 2007, Arkin responded to an NBC Nightly News report on U.S. soldiers in Iraq who said they were frustrated by antiwar sentiment at home, and especially by people who say they support the troops, but not the war. In his Washington Post blog, Arkin wrote, "We pay the soldiers a decent wage, take care of their families, provide them with housing and medical care and vast social support systems and ship obscene amenities into the war zone for them, we support them in every possible way, and their attitude is that we should in addition roll over and play dead, defer to the military and the generals and let them fight their war, and give up our rights and responsibilities to speak up because they are above society?" He went on, "But it is the United States, and the recent NBC report is just an ugly reminder of the price we pay for a mercenary - oops sorry, volunteer - force that thinks it is doing the dirty work." This sentiment drew denunciations from Bill O'Reilly, as well as various other media commentators.

Joint Trials, A Major Challenge for the ICTR in 2010

Four joint trials involving 17 accused, amongst whom former government ministers and generals,
will be a major challenge this year for the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR).

The ICTR is supposed to close its initial trials in 2010.

“The four multi-accused cases continue to pose the greatest challenge for the Tribunal,
even where the evidence phase has been completed”, wrote the ICTR president Judge Dennis Byron
in a recent report to the Security Council. Trial Chamber II has completed the Nyiramasuhuko et al.
trial, the so-called Butare case involving six co-accused, including Pauline Nyiramasuhuko,
a former Ministry for Women and Family affairs and the only woman indicted by the ICTR.
The Chamber heard the oral closing arguments in April 2009. The Prosecution requested
the maximum penalty for all accused.

This trial is the longest in the - short - history of International Justice. It has lasted over 726 days,
and 59 Prosecution and 130 Defence witnesses were heard. Judgment delivery is expected
in September 2010.

Judges have also commenced the judgment drafting in the Bizimungu et al. case.
The case involves four former Ministers of the Interim Government (Casimir Bizimungu,
Justin Mugenzi, Jérôme Bicamumpaka, and Prosper Mugiraneza), which was installed
after the assassination of the former Rwandan President Habyarimana. Closing arguments
were heard in December 2008. The Prosecution equally requested life in prison for all defendants.
The trial started in 2003 and spanned 404 trial days. The verdict is expected to be rendered
at the end the year.

The third joint trial, dubbed Military II case (Ndindilyimana et al.), is also in the judgment
drafting phase. The four co-accused in this case, which started in 2004, are high-rank
military officers, including the former Head of the Rwandan Armed Forces Augustin Bizimungu
and former Head of the Gendarmerie Augustin Ndindiliyimana. The judgment is slated for September.

Trial Chamber III will continue hearing evidence in the last joint trial, Édouard Karemera et al.
This case involves, besides the former vice-president of the then ruling party MRND,
Edouard Karemera, former MRND president Mathieu Ngirumpatse and the former Secretary
General of the party in power, Joseph Nzirorera.

The Karemera et al. case opened in 2005 but judgment delivery is not expected before 2011.
The strategy of the Prosecution is to demonstrate that the three defendants are guilty of
crimes committed by members of their party by virtue of their "superior responsibility".

Moreover, due to the illness of one of the accused, Mathieu Ngirumpatse, proceedings are slower.
This joint trial will be the first case to resume on January 18. In addition, seven other trials,
involving each only one defendant, will restart progressively.

Genocide Fugitive is Arrested

Charles Bandora, a Rwandan indicted in his home country for his alleged role
in the 1994 genocide, was arrested last week in Malawi.

According to Radio Rwanda, Charles Bandora was in 1994 a businessman and influent
local member of the former ruling party MRND. He is accused of having trained Interahamwe
militiamen in the Bugesera region (South-East), and of having supervised massacres.

In Malawi, Charles Bandora was operating several businesses in the open.
His arrest comes three weeks after Rwanda's Chief Prosecutor Martin Ngoga visited Malawi.

In November 2009, Ngoga had blamed Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia for "doing nothing"
to arrest Rwandan fugitives living on their soil. Besides Bandora, three other fugitives
from Rwandan justice are believed to live in Malawi.

Rwanda's government-appointed investigation into the assassination of former
President Juvenal Habyarimana has found that extremists and members of
Habyarimana's inner circle, "Akazu", were responsible for the assassination.

It is estimated that about 800,000 Tutsis and
moderate Hutus were slaughtered by
Hutu militias during a 100-day killing-spree
after Hutu President Juvenal Habyarimana's plane was shot down in April, 1994.

Both him and his Burundian counterpart Cyprian Ntaryamira,
who were returning from peace talks in Tanzania, died in the plane crash.

The probe, set up by President Paul Kagame and conducted by British defense experts,
concludes that Hutu extremists conspired that killing their own leader would torpedo
the implementation of a power-sharing accord Habyarimana agreed with the Rwandan
Patriotic Front (RPF).

The report, released on Monday, relies on a number of previous international investigations
and evidence from interviews conducted with nearly 600 individuals, media has reported.

Former Rwandan intelligence chief Idelphonse Nizeyimana, one of the most-wanted suspects
in the racial extermination, was arrested in Uganda in October.

The United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) has convicted only
a few dozen people for their role in the genocide,

with many other suspects still at large.

Test for a Court as Prosecutors Face Liberia’s Ex-Ruler

Charles G. Taylor, the former president of Liberia, addressing the Special Court for Sierra Leone

Time and again, he has denied accusations that he enriched himself from the nation’s coffers
or ran smuggling operations of weapons and diamonds. He said he had nothing to do with
enslaving child soldiers or killing or hacking off the limbs of villagers outside Liberia’s borders.
Rather, he claimed, he had settled disputes between warring factions and obtained the release
of abducted United Nations peacekeepers.

The charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity
brought against him at his trial in The Hague, he said, “are all lies.”

Now that he has told his side of the story, it is the prosecutors’ turn to cross-examine,
and they say that Mr. Taylor’s long testimony in the trial will provide even more ammunition
for them: they accused him of lying repeatedly under oath. They said they would now also
seek to impeach him as a witness, which could seriously weaken his defense.

Mr. Taylor’s long and direct testimony is unusual for international war crimes trials,
where only a few defendants have spent even short periods on the stand.
Defense lawyers usually warn talkative clients of the perils of being questioned during
cross-examination. Mr. Taylor’s cross-examination, now under way,
is expected to last several weeks.

One of the prosecution’s first steps has been to challenge Mr. Taylor’s testimony under oath
that he had never funneled government funds into private accounts. On the witness stand,
he repeatedly dared his accusers to show any financial wrongdoing.

In a surprise move this month, prosecutors presented records of a bank account opened
in 1999 in Mr. Taylor’s name, with deposits adding up to more than $14 million.

“This was a covert account,” Mr. Taylor conceded, appearing uncomfortable.
The money was the government’s, not his own, he said. Bags of cash were withdrawn from
the account and taken to his mansion to pay for arms, ammunition and special operations,
he continued. “It was used covertly, and I’m under no obligation to tell you what those
covert operations were.”

A close to $2 million deposit came from a timber company, and a $3.5 million deposit
was made by the government of Taiwan, the prosecutor noted. “Why is it covert?”
the prosecutor asked. “Because it is going directly into your pocket?”

No, Mr. Taylor replied. These were secret government funds, he explained.
If the money had gone to the central bank, he said, “the I.M.F. and the World Bank
would know about it.” And at the time, Liberia was under an international arms embargo,
he recalled.

The exchange was a telling moment in a complex trial that touches on a web of violence
and corruption reaching from Liberia into Sierra Leone, Guinea and Ivory Coast.
Prosecutors say that Mr. Taylor, in his drive to expand his power in the region,
was at the center of it all.

An international panel of four judges, based in The Hague, is trying Mr. Taylor
specifically for arming and controlling a brutal rebel force in Sierra Leone during
the country’s 1991-2002 civil war that led to the deaths of some 200,000 people.
His indictment holds him accountable for the rebels’ crimes as they pillaged,
killed and raped, used children as soldiers and hacked off hands to terrorize civilians.
Many others died in his home country, Liberia, but events there are not within
the mandate of the court.

Much is at stake at this first war crimes trial of an African president.
It is seen as a new test for trying a former head of state in an international tribunal.
The case against Slobodan Milosevic, the former Serbian president,
ended inconclusively when he died in his cell in The Hague.

The court has also come under greater scrutiny from some African governments since
another African leader, President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan, has been sought by
a different international court on charges similar to those leveled against Mr. Taylor.
African leaders so far have said they will not cooperate in detaining Sudan’s president.

Mr. Taylor’s trial, which began in earnest in January 2008 after a halting start and
an initial boycott by the defendant, has seemed to go smoothly, not least because of
the calm and respectful court manners displayed by Mr. Taylor and his defense team.

But budget problems continue to haunt the Special Court for Sierra Leone,
which is backed by the United Nations but financed through voluntary contributions.
Eight other defendants have been tried and sentenced by the court, and Mr. Taylor’s
is the last case.

But in recent days anxious court officials said the Taylor case could come to a standstill
for lack of money early next year because so far they had pledges for less than half of
the $18 million needed for 2010.

More than $1 million a year goes to salaries and rent for Mr. Taylor’s defense team.
He has claimed penury, even though he is accused of having built a fortune in kickbacks
from licenses and sales of the array of natural resources of Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Mr. Taylor, when forced out of office in 2003, claimed to own real estate worth $1.5 million.
But he said that he had no hidden fortune and that his presidential salary was
only $2,000 per month.

British lawyers and investigators on several continents have been hunting for Mr. Taylor’s
legendary missing wealth. He has not been charged with stealing in Liberia, but any hidden
accounts or assets are considered vital for prosecutors.

No one knows how much money was stolen during the violence of the 1990s or raised from
the diamond fields of Sierra Leone or parts of Guinea. Prosecutors said that timber exports
from Liberia were stepped up during the war, and several witnesses, including members of
Mr. Taylor’s inner circle, have testified that rebel commanders brought raw diamonds to
Mr. Taylor’s mansion and left with weapons.

Even though prosecutors rested their case earlier this year, after presenting 91 witnesses,
they are now permitted to enter new evidence as they cross-examine Mr. Taylor.
The defense is also expected to call several dozen witnesses next year.

ที่สน.พญาไท นายนิก นอสทิส ผู้สื่อข่าวอิสระชาวเยอรมัน เข้าพบพ.ต.ท.เทพพิทักษ์ แสงกล้า พนักงานสอบสวน สน. พญาไท เพื่อติดตามข้อมูลของผู้ชุมนุมเสื้อแดงรายหนึ่ง ซึ่งนักข่าวเยอรมันรายนี้แจ้งว่า เมื่อวันที่ 15 พ.ค.ได้ภาพถ่ายชายคนหนึ่ง ขณะถูกยิงล้มลงที่หน้าปั๊มน้ำมันเชลล์ ถนนราชปรารภ อยากทราบว่าขณะนี้มีชะตากรรมเป็นอย่างไร ตำรวจจึงนำแฟ้มผู้เสียชีวิตในเหตุการณ์มาให้ดูและพบว่าชายคนดังกล่าวคือนาย ชาญณรงค์ พลศรีลา อายุ 45 ปี จากสภาพศพเมื่อมาประกอบกับภาพถ่ายของนายนิก ปรากฏว่าเป็นรายเดียวกัน เมื่อนายนิกรับทราบว่าผู้อยู่ในภาพข่าวของตัวเองเสียชีวิตก็ถึงกับหน้าสลด นิ่งอึ้งอยู่พักใหญ่ อย่างไรก็ตาม พนักงานสอบสวนขอความร่วมมือนายนิกโดยเชิญสอบปากคำเพื่อเป็นพยานนานกว่า 2 ชั่วโมง นายนิก มอบภาพถ่ายที่บันทึกไว้ในวันเกิดเหตุเป็นหลักฐานกับตำรวจด้วย

นายนิก กล่าวว่า เสียใจมากที่ชายคนนี้ตาย เพราะหลังเหตุการณ์นั้นทั้งภาพและเสียงร้องขอความช่วยเหลือของชายคนนี้ติดตา ตนมาตลอด วันที่ 15 พ.ค. ชายคนนี้เป็นหนึ่งในกลุ่มผู้ชุมนุมคนเสื้อแดง แค่ไม่กี่คนที่พยายามนำยางรถยนต์มาขวางถนนราชปรารภ ห่างจากทหารราว 80 เมตร ชายคนนี้เข้ามาพูดคุยกับนักข่าวต่างประเทศ พร้อมชูหนังสติ๊กแล้วคุยว่านี่คืออาวุธที่จะสู้กับทหาร จากนั้นไม่นานชายคนนี้ก็ถูกยิงล้มลง เจ้าตัวพยายามคลานเข้ามาหลบไปปั๊มแล้วปีนข้ามกำแพงปั๊มไปหลบในบ่อบัวของบ้าน หลังหนึ่ง

นายนิก กล่าวอีกว่า เห็นกับตาแม้อยู่ในน้ำแล้ว แต่ทหารยังปีนตามมาลากตัวออกไปทั้งยังด่าว่าอย่างหยาบคาย จากวันนั้นพยายามตามหาชายผู้นี้ เพราะอยากรู้ว่าเป็นตายร้ายดีอย่างไร จนมาทราบว่าเสียชีวิตแล้ว ไม่เข้าใจว่าทหารไทยทำแบบนี้ได้อย่างไร ไม่มีการยิง แก๊สน้ำตา ไม่มียิงขู่ แต่ยิงตรงๆ ชายคนนี้ไม่ควรต้องมาตาย เรื่องนี้ต้องมีคนรับผิดชอบ ตนพร้อมเป็นพยานกับตำรวจเพื่อให้ความเป็นธรรมกับผู้ตายรายนี้ และในวันเกิดเหตุมีนักข่าวต่างประเทศยืนอยู่ด้วยหลายคนมีทั้งภาพนิ่ง และคลิปวิดีโอเป็นหลักฐาน ส่วนตัวตั้งใจจะไปพบครอบครัวนายชาญณรงค์ เพื่อเล่าเหตุ การณ์ต่างๆ ให้ฟัง

ความคืบหน้าคดีดังกล่าวเวลา 09.00 น. วันที่ 18 มิ.ย. ผู้สื่อข่าวเดินทางไปพบพ.ต.ท.เทพพิทักษ์ เพื่อสอบถามความคืบหน้าของคดีโดยทาง พ.ต.ท.เทพพิทักษ์ กล่าวว่า นายนิก นิสทอส ช่างภาพอิสระชาวเยอรมัน ได้เข้าพบเมื่อวานนี้ (17 มิ.ย.) เวลา 10.30 น. เพื่อขอดูรูปภาพถ่ายของนายชาญณรงค์และยืนยันว่าเป็นรูปเดียวกับที่ตนบันทึกภาพไว้ได้ โดยนายนิก ได้ยืนบันทึกภาพอยู่ฝั่งตรงข้ามกับที่เกิดเหตุ หลังจากสอบถามเบื้องต้นแล้ว ได้ให้นายนิก ไปรวบรวมภาพถ่ายที่ทางนายนิก สามารถยืนยันได้ว่า คนตายที่อยู่ในภาพนั้นเป็นนายชาญณรงค์ จริงและได้นัดให้มาพบอีกในวันจันทร์ที่ 21 มิ.ย. เวลาประมาณ 09.00 น. โดยขณะนี้ยังมีผู้ที่เสียชีวิตจากอาวุธปืนอีก 4 คน เป็นผู้ชาย 3 คน หนึ่งในนั้นเป็นเด็กชายอายุประมาณ 13 -14 ปี และเป็นผู้หญิงวัยกลางคนอีก 1 คน ซึ่งขณะนี้ยังไม่มีญาติพี่น้องมาติดต่อแต่อย่างใด จึงฝากประชาสัมพันธ์ให้ผู้ที่สงสัยว่าเป็นญาติพี่น้องที่หายตัวไปสามารถของดูภาพถ่ายได้ที่สน.พญาไท[

นักข่าวเยอรมันได้พบลูกสาวแท็กซี่ เหยื่อปืน "ราชปรารภ" แล้ว เล่าเหตุการณ์ที่ถ่ายภาพวัน ถูกยิงตรงแนวยางรถยนต์ ทำเอาลูกสาวผู้ตายร่ำไห้โฮออกมา ฝ่ายนักข่าวเองก็สะเทือนใจจนพลอยร้องไห้ตามไปด้วย ลูกสาวเผยสองคนกับแม่ ออกตามหาศพพ่อตามร.พ.ไปทั่ว จนไปเจอที่รามาฯ มีภาพถ่ายในสภาพเน่าไปแล้วแต่ก็ยังจำได้ พม.แจกเงินเยียวยา 200 ราย รายที่ตายได้รับ 4 แสน แต่ญาติต่างย้ำถึงได้เงินชดเชยก็ไม่คุ้ม ทั้งที่ตายไปก็ไม่ใช่คนเสื้อแดง แต่ผ่านไปเจอลูกหลง

จากกรณีนายนิก นอสทิส นักข่าวอิสระชาวเยอรมัน เดินทางไปพบตำรวจสน.พญาไท เพื่อตามหาผู้ชุมนุมคนเสื้อแดงคนหนึ่ง ซึ่งนายนิกเห็นเหตุการณ์ขณะถูกทหารยิงบาดเจ็บ ขณะอยู่แนวยางรถยนต์บนถนนราชปรารภ ก่อนได้รับการยืนยันจากตำรวจว่าชายดังกล่าวเสียชีวิตไปแล้ว ชื่อนายชาญณรงค์ พลศรีลา อายุ 45 ปี อาชีพแท็กซี่ เหตุเกิดเมื่อวันที่ 15 พ.ค.ที่ผ่านมา ตามที่ปรากฏเป็นข่าวไปแล้วนั้น

เมื่อวันที่ 18 พ.ค. น.ส.มนชยา หรือส้มโอ พลศรีลา อายุ 25 ปี พนักงานข้าราชการ กองทัพอากาศ บุตรสาวนายชาญณรงค์ พลศรีลา อายุ 45 ปี ผู้เสียชีวิตจากการกระชับพื้นที่บริเวณหน้าปั๊มน้ำมันเชลล์ ถนนราชปรารภ เมื่อวันที่ 15 พ.ค.ที่ผ่านมา ได้เดินทางไปพบนายนิก นอสทิส นักข่าวอิสระชาวเยอรมัน ที่เห็นเหตุการณ์ขณะนายชาญณรงค์ถูกยิง และพยายามเข้าไปช่วยเหลือ โดยทั้งสองนัดหมายเจอกันที่ร้านอาหารแห่งหนึ่ง ย่านสายไหม

ผู้สื่อข่าวรายงานว่า น.ส.มนชยา หรือส้มโอ สอบถามนายนิก ถึงเหตุการณ์ที่นายชาญณรงค์ถูกยิงทันที โดยสอบถามถึงเรื่องราวต่างๆ วันแรกที่พบพ่อ และช่วงที่ถูกยิงหน้าปั๊มน้ำมันเชลล์ ถนนราชปรารภอย่างละเอียด ทั้งนี้ ระหว่างที่นายนิกเล่าเรื่องราวต่างๆ ตั้งแต่ต้นให้น้องส้มโอฟัง ทำเอาน้องส้มโอถึงกับกลั้นน้ำตาไม่อยู่ ปล่อยโฮออกมาต่อหน้าผู้สื่อข่าว โดยที่นายนิกก็พลอยร้องไห้ออกมาด้วย จนต้องให้น้องส้มโอนั่งพักดื่มน้ำเย็น เพื่อให้หายเครียด ประมาณ 5 นาที จากนั้นนายนิกเล่าเหตุการณ์ต่อช่วงที่นายชาญณรงค์ถูกยิง และช่วงที่นายนิกเข้าไปช่วยเหลือ โดยพยายามนำร่างนายชาญณรงค์ออกจากจุดเกิดเหตุเพื่อไปส่งโรงพยาบาล แต่ไม่สามารถนำออกมาได้ เพราะขณะนั้นมีกำลังทหารประชิดเข้ามาแล้ว

นายนิก เล่าว่า ก่อนเกิดเหตุเมื่อวันที่ 15 พ.ค. ขณะเดินทางไปทำข่าวอยู่บริเวณราชปรารภ ก็ได้พบเห็นนายชาญณรงค์อยู่บริเวณแนวรั้วยางรถยนต์ ขณะนั้นทราบว่าจะมีทหารบุกเข้ามาสลายการชุมนุมบริเวณดังกล่าว ก่อนหน้านี้ตนและนายชาญณรงค์ก็ได้ยืนอยู่ด้วยกัน และตนยังถ่ายรูปนายชาญณรงค์ไว้ด้วย เหตุการณ์ที่เกิดขึ้นครั้งนี้ ตนไม่มีวันลืมตลอดชีวิตแน่นอน ภาพนายชาญณรงค์ถูกยิงวันนั้นยังติดตาตนตลอดเวลา และจะเดินหน้าหาความเป็นธรรมให้กับนายชาญณรงค์ต่อไป

ส่วนน.ส.มนชยา หรือส้มโอ กล่าวว่า บิดาของตนเดินทางไปร่วมชุมนุมกับกลุ่มคนเสื้อแดงบริเวณแยกราชปรารภ เมื่อวันที่ 15 พ.ค. และในวันนั้น ตนทราบว่าช่วงประมาณ 15.00 น. จะมีการกระชับพื้นที่ มีความเป็นห่วงพ่อ จึงได้โทรศัพท์ไปหาแต่ไม่ติด คาดว่าน่าจะถูกตัดสัญญาณมือถือ และตลอดทั้งวันทั้งคืนนั้น ก็ไม่สามารถติดต่อพ่อได้เลย จนกระทั่งเช้าวันที่ 16 พ.ค. มารดาตน คือนางสุริยันต์เดินถือหนังสือ พิมพ์ "ข่าวสด" ฉบับบ่ายเป็นวันที่ 17 พ.ค. มาให้ตนดู และบอกว่าพ่อถูกยิงบริเวณราชปรารภ โดยภายในหนังสือพิมพ์วันนั้น เป็นภาพมีชาย 2 คน กำลังหิ้วปีกพ่อออกมาจากที่เกิดเหตุ บริเวณหน้าปั๊มน้ำมันเชลล์

น.ส.มนชยา กล่าวต่อว่า หลังจากเห็นภาพข่าวว่าพ่อถูกยิง ก็รีบออกตามหาทันทีว่าเขานำพ่อส่งโรงพยาบาลอะไร โดยติดต่อสอบถามไปทุกโรงพยาบาล รวมทั้งศูนย์เอราวัณ ซึ่งเป็นจุดที่รวบรวมรายชื่อผู้บาดเจ็บและเสียชีวิต แต่ก็ไม่พบ จากนั้นวันที่ 17 พ.ค. ตนได้นำข้อมูลประวัติพ่อโพสต์ลงเฟซบุ๊กและยูทูบ เพราะอยากทราบรายละเอียดคนที่พบเห็นเหตุการณ์หรือคนที่ช่วยเหลือพ่อในวันนั้นว่าเป็นใคร และต้องการทราบความจริงว่าวันนั้นเรื่องราวเป็นอย่างไร น.ส.มนชยา กล่าวอีกว่า กระทั่งวันที่ 19 พ.ค. ตนและแม่ไปตรวจสอบที่ร.พ.วชิระ บริเวณตึกนิติเวชอีก แต่ก็ไม่พบ จึงคิดว่าน่าจะถึงทางตันแล้ว ไม่รู้จะไปตามหาที่ไหน ทางแม่จึงมาบอกให้ตนไปดูที่แผนกนิติเวช ร.พ.รามาธิบดีอีกครั้ง เพราะยังไม่เคยไป พอไปถึงก็ได้เดินเข้าไปยังตึกนิติเวช และสอบถามเจ้าหน้าที่ว่ามีศพชายรูปร่างท้วม ถูกยิงบริเวณราชปรารภ ส่งเข้ามาหรือไม่ ทางโรงพยาบาลจึงนำภาพศพทั้งหมดที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการชุมนุมมาให้ดู โดยพบว่ามีอยู่ 2 คนที่ส่งมาจากราชปรารภ ศพแรกเป็นชายรูปร่างผอม ไม่ทราบชื่อ หน้าตาเละ ส่วนศพที่ 2 เป็นชายรูปร่างท้วม มีหนวด อายุประมาณ 40-45 ปี แต่สภาพศพขึ้นอืด ใบหน้าเละจำไม่ได้ เนื่องจากทางโรงพยาบาลไม่ได้ฉีดยา ทั้งนี้ เมื่อตนเห็นศพดังกล่าว จึงยืนยันได้ทันทีว่า คือศพของพ่อตนแน่นอน เพราะจำเสื้อผ้าที่สวมใส่ได้อย่างแม่นยำ จึงประสานขอรับศพไปบำเพ็ญกุศลทันที

บุตรสาวนายชาญณรงค์ กล่าวอีกว่า ตลอดระยะเวลาที่ตามหาพ่อมาตั้งแต่วันที่ 15 พ.ค. ตนก็มักจะฝันเห็นพ่อเกือบทุกวัน โดยในความฝันนั้นเป็นเหตุการณ์พ่อถูกยิง พอตนตื่นขึ้นมา ก็นั่งนึกว่าจะเป็นไปได้หรือ ที่พ่อมาถูกยิงกลางเมืองหลวงแบบนี้ และยังฝันเห็นพ่อนอนอยู่บนผ้าห่อศพสีขาว ซึ่งเหมือนเป็นลางบอกเหตุว่าพ่อน่าจะเสียชีวิตแล้ว จนกระทั่งมาพบศพ และหลังจากที่นำร่างพ่อไปบำเพ็ญกุศล ตนก็ได้ฝันเห็นพ่ออีก โดยพ่อมาทักทาย พ่อมีรูปร่างหน้าตาหนุ่มหล่อ มาบอกสบายดี ตนถึงกับร้องไห้เมื่อฝันถึงพ่อ

ด้านนายนิก กล่าวว่า วันเกิดเหตุ จำได้ว่าหลังจากที่นายชาญณรงค์ถูกยิงที่หน้าปั๊มแล้ว ได้พยายามคลานเข้ามาในปั๊ม ซึ่งขณะนั้นนักข่าวและผู้ชุมนุมได้ไปรวมตัวกันอยู่ที่ห้องน้ำหลังปั๊ม แล้วปีนข้ามรั้วหนีไปยังบ้านหลังหนึ่ง โดยมีคนเสื้อแดงช่วยกันนำร่างนายชาญณรงค์ข้ามมาด้วย แต่นายชาญณรงค์ลงไปนอนหลบแช่อยู่ในบ่อบัว โผล่มาแค่หน้า และยังส่งเสียงร้องให้ตนช่วย บอกว่า "ผมไม่ไหวแล้ว" แต่เมื่อทหารปีนข้ามรั้วมาได้ ก็ด่านายชาญณรงค์อย่างหยาบคายว่า ทำไมถึงไม่ตาย แล้วสั่งให้ตนช่วยดึงขึ้นมาจากน้ำ แต่ตนดึงคนเดียวไม่ไหว ทหารก็เลยเข้ามาดึงแขนนายชาญณรงค์ขึ้นมาแล้วพาข้ามกำแพงไป เมื่อได้ทราบว่านายชาญณรงค์เสียชีวิตแล้ว ก็รู้สึกเสียใจ แต่ถ้าถามตนว่ารู้สึกสบายใจขึ้นหรือไม่ ที่ได้พบบุตรสาวคนที่เสียชีวิต บอกได้ว่าไม่ เพราะการสูญเสียชีวิตนั้น ไม่สามารถที่จะเรียกกลับคืนมาได้

ผู้สื่อข่าวรายงานด้วยว่า หลังจากที่นายนิกและน้องส้มโอพูดคุยกันเสร็จ ก็ได้แลกเปลี่ยนเบอร์โทรศัพท์ และอีเมล์ โดยนายนิกรับปากว่าจะส่งภาพเหตุการณ์พ่อน้องส้มโอที่ถูกยิงในวันนั้นให้ดูทั้งหมด
